What would DJT do, if this guy was his National Security Advisor?

I don't think Trump being in office would have made any difference. Hamas doesn't give a crap who is in the White House.

It's obvious that operational planning and supply for this attack took place over *years*. They were socking away rockets while America was hiding at home in terror over a flu.

They would have 6 billion less to fund it. FJB

There have been a couple people here who have more than hinted at some both-sidesism, and said the "far-right" and Bibi have salivated over this and have been hoping for this "excuse" to finally retaliate so he can "de-fang the courts" and have even blamed this on those who are opposed to the courts who have commie rule over the people of Israel. You are absolute demons.
It's ok. We know Bibi didn't launch the rocket attacks. Hamas did. They're just pissed that someone _effective_ will be in charge of the response, instead of some p*ssy compromiser.

I recently moved back to Texas after just a 2 year layover in IN. I've already been to Brownsville, El Paso, Austin and Houston for hunts, work and pleasure. Things have been changing for the 2 decades that I've been an adult and noticing, but the 2 year gap has been eye opening. Things will never be the same.

I hope and literally pray it doesnt happen, but I fully expect something in the same vein to happen here. Probably not until we go hands on* there vs the currenty proxy via $$ we have.

Anyone else think our $$ to Palestine is protection money to keep them out of our hood? "Here's a billion dollars if you keep blowing up Israelis and not Jews in the US. "

*Us sending warships to the area would the precursor. Once we start launching air strikes/missles to assist the Israelis, I fully expect retaliation from those sleeper cells that snuck in to work to send money home to hamas to get activated and execute this kind of indiscriminate attack.

Given that the NYT, The Guardian, the BBC, and the left wing MSM in general have their panties in a bunch over Netanyahu’s new law, I would not automatically assume he's the bad guy in this. (Also that Biden’s admin opposes Netanyahu is a point in Bibi’s favor). Nor would I assume that the judicial’s prosecution for corruption should be taken at face value. It’s not like we haven’t seen disruptive, “right wing” politicians persecuted by leftwing legal establishments before.

Israel, long a bastion of leftwing socialism, has been moving politically right as it has gotten older. I think the only thing that kept it from going loonytunes left into the usual socialist “utopia” long before this is, ironically, its enemies. When you have people massed on every border — and within your border — ready to murder you and every one of your children and neighbors today, immediately, It forces a kind of reality check against going too far afield. The Palestinians’ long running attacks and repeated purposeful missing of opportunities to have their own government AND live in peace with Israel has made most Israelis very practical and realist.

I think it’s this constant threat of annihilation and attack, that has moved Israel rightward, and allowed more capitalism, more free enterprise, and a higher tech economy to flourish. This shift has been reflected in the governments, at least the part elected by the people. And as a consequence of this, the Israeli left has been losing power in society and government, not only in the Knesset, but in the executive part of government as well.

The left’s last bastion of power in the government is in the judiciary, with its unelected power. The supporters of the new law argue that the judiciary, and particularly the Supreme Court, have been appropriating power to themselves that allows them to override the laws and decisions of the more rightwing elective officials of government well outside of what an unelected part of government should be able to do.

A lot of this should produce echos, no?

In any case, I would not take the mainstream press is characterization of the fight between the government and the judiciary at face value. Bibi may or may not be a crook, but he also may or may not be right about what he’s doing.

In the meantime, I hope Bibi stomps the living guts out of Hamas, and maybe Iran while he is at it. I would be happy to divert all the Ukraine funding to Israel for this purpose.

Historical factoid: Bibi’s brother Yonatan was the only Israeli soldier killed during the Entebbe rescue. He was the commander of the troops on the ground. Bibi and I believe another brother also served their military time in the same special ops-typ unit as Yonatan.
Booooooo! -1 to this! Don't believe the Fake News...Israel would be a land of peace, kumbaya, and Burning Man concerts in the desert IF we could only get those angry old men out of Tha Government. And, my cool, young, educated Palestinian friend toooootally agrees with me on this. So you don't know what you're talking about, dude!

Why would we need to get involved in a fight on the other side of the planet, especially if engagement could put our national security at risk?

Israel isn't a defenseless country. The concept that they even need financial aid to deal with Hamas is completely laughable and absurd.
The only reason that group even exists is largely due to international geopolitics trying to create some compromise between Israel and Palestine, keeping Israel on a leash.

The West Bank and the Gaza strip would both be smoldering holes in the ground if it wasn't for foreign meddling.

The best approach would be the approach we should take on almost every foreign policy issue. Stop injecting ourselves into conflicts that don't directly involve us. I get that some exceptions need to be made for strategic resources, such as with Taiwan and microchip fabs, but trying to be the world police has never made our lives better.

You say microchip fabs, I say corn exports, and someone else says something else and it never ends.

I think the point is to keep radical islamists from exterminating a nation, when we’re next on the list.

One thing for sure when Israel has time to figure out what went wrong. It will get fixed before they do the same thing again. Well find out what failed and why.

Imagine 2000 cartel soldiers coming across into rural Arizona and doing something like this to the United States.
How long would it take to respond and what would our response be?
I feel like they already do. They're just quieter about it

Well, there ya have it. One cool, young, educated Palestinian telling us how it is and yet, in NYC and other places (including congress) they talk a different language.

Your friend may be right but it means nothing when the majority appears to be speaking otherwise. There are many good loving muslims but the majority are seemingly different.
