I usually go to the JC’s in Corydon for gas because I like to spew pollution and it’s far enough outside of Louisville metro the gas stations don’t have to put in all the additives.

Maybe the .30/gal limit is just for that location. I’ll find out today.

During my drive today, lowest prices I’ve seen for gas and diesel was on the south side of Jackson, TN. Gas was $2.95 and diesel was 3.29.

Is this all about our currently higher in the country state gas taxes?

We really need to start pressing our legislators and new governor candidates now to get a working narrative about TAX CUTS going into the next election. Gas taxes, property taxes, sales taxes, school tax referendums scams.

We used to be a tax friendly state. Not so much anymore.

In fairness, 2 stations (one was a Walmart) had fuel at the prices I mentioned. The rest of the 350-something trip, everyone else was higher. Bedford/Mitchell being the high price champions for the day. No doubt the taxes play a role but something more accounts for the $0.70/gallon difference I saw for diesel.

Do we think gas prices will drop after the Memorial day weekend?

I have 16-18ish gallons to purchase and $.60 in Kroger rewards.

I got lucky this time and found the closest Kroger to me was $.20 cheaper than every other station within normal driving range. This is especially strange for B-town? I dunno, but I'll take it. 15 gallons @ $2.90. :spend:

Wholesale is at over $5 right now. Coming to the pump in a big way in another week or so, and no SPR left to fix it.

Expect the message to pivot to "drive less".
...or inflate your tires...or get a tune up...or bypass the pumps, get an EV.

    (or all the above.)
