I find a lot of this is about earnestness and passion. People who are earnest and passionate, are easy marks for other people who are (drumroll...) earnest and passionate.

The Bloomington Facebook Mob convinced one of my coworkers CO2 was destroying the Ozone layer. Now, that's not the chemical mechanism in play. But I had to dig out the CHEM 115/116 body of knowledge and prove to her that CO2 is essentially an inert gas in the atmosphere. I will credit her for being open to new knowledge. But you could tell, there was a real struggle in her mind, why those "other people" had misinformed her. She was like, "Then why did they tell me it's CO2 doing that?" Well hell, I don't know.

But those people are so earnest and passionate. It's just so hard to compete with that. "In a world of apathy and lack of compassion...why would the earnest people mislead me?"

The illusion here is that the subject matter actually matters.

There'd be no functional difference than if these types were convinced that blue was actually yellow.

This is the point I'm trying to convey, the method in which people are acquiring knowledge and acting on it, are artificial means. They've lost the ability to think independent of this information, and to question it.

And all of this lies at the heart of wokeness, the culture war, and modern politic as a whole. There's similar things that have happened on the right, like people lusting after grifters, the Qanon nonsense, and other things. But it's far more unimpactful than what is happening on the left. On the left, everything is razor honed on helping promote the power of the party.

And the people planting this knowledge into the public know full well what they are doing, sometimes even to the extent of admitting it, but the public ignores that.

It infuriates me when a trusted source lies to me. If I catch them once, how can I ever trust them again? Talking to coworkers about the so called "don't say gay bill", I informed them that the word gay isn't even in the bill. I didn't read the whole bill to them, but I read a summary. They didn't even ask why they were lied to. They just shrugged it off.

And that's been my experience. Those people who are earnest and passionate about a topic will go on believing the lie because the lie services their earnestness and passion. Same kind of thing with family members. They argue to preserve the lie anyway after you've identified it as a lie. Hunter Biden laptop. Nope. Not a lie. And then will contort themselves like a drunk gymnast trying to save the lie so that they can still believe it.

And when it becomes irrefutable--no one denies the validity of the laptop anymore--they just deny that it's of any importance. If you can't save the lie, marginalize the truth. It's not only the left that falls for that.

Especially the highlighted. Reminds me of Harry Reid's infamous justification for lying about Romney's taxes,, "Romney didn't win, did he?"

I wasn't surprised that this didn't infuriate Democrats. Would it have infuriated die hard Trumpers? I don't have strong evidence that many would. Being earnest and passionate about something escalates the game to the point of being willing to do anything to win it. If you get to an ideological point where everything is on the table, nothing is too evil to do in service of winning.

People would rather continue to be lied to, than admit they were lied to.

Maybe the common thread in all of this foolishness points to accelerating depopulation/democide efforts?

Climate (excuse) based totalitarianism, clot shot, weaponization of CDC/FDA/medical establishment, LGBTQ, child grooming/abuse, porn, synthetic hormones (Teva Pharma), fentanyl flood, poison food (GMOs, additives, seed oils, pesticides etc), poison municipal water supplies (fluoride, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, bacteria etc.) manufactured scarcity, encourage drug and alcohol abuse, destruction of currency/economy, invasion (open borders), homogenization of population (weakens nation/community).......

It’s always compared to the unobtainable utopia. The believe that in this fallen world, if only we all pulled in the same direction, spent the proper resources, made the necessary sacrifices, we would arrive at their version of utopia. It’s the perfect scam. The vision of a perfect tomorrow is always just one more tax increase or regulation away.
"Utopia" is always going to be accomplished by giving someone else (or some governmental structure) a bunch of your resources, all while taking no personal responsibilty, yet claiming great virtue.

Why don't they just release a virus that is actually deadly? Why all of these teeny measures?

Maybe “viruses” as described don’t exist.

I don’t usually do this, even with threads I started, but maybe we could think about the relevance to the topic before we post things while wearing our special hats.
