Yes. Please get rid of all of your 1911s. Oh by the way, I’ll help you “recycle”them.

Did they have the rail on the original 1911? Wonder which light they used back then?

Ok seriously clearly manufacturing has evolved new features have become available, quality has improved. But there are those that refuse to except evolution of a fine sidearm.

This is the 1911 .45 we will go over maintenance and cleaning of the pistol.

You will then qualify and shoot the .45 pistol before you advance in your training.

I wonder if some national guard units still have 1911's?
Have they been completely phased out now?

Found a nice article on the 1911.

Don’t know how many of you folks have seen this. I ran across an article this morning, if I can figure out how to copy and paste it, I will. Anyway, won’t go into his extensive background, but suffice to say, he loves the Colt M1911. He purchased an original 1911, manufactured in 1918; NOT the M1911 A1, manufactured in 1926. He was able to buy this one for $2199.00. Won’t retype the whole article, but had it tuned up, and he is in love. Anyway, he stated that Colt is going to be bringing the WW1 M1911 back into production! Great news! Just makes me want one!

"Retire" the 1911 after Over a Hundred Years of Service?
As has been previously stated-if you don't like em, don't buy em.
I'm perhaps Not qualified to speak on this issue, since I only have Four.
Two in 10mm & two in 45acp (the way God/John M Browning intended)
Two were my Dad's & All are in my Will.
