And I got this photo back!!! 50 minute fight. He (15} and his friend (14) got in the water with it to revive it and it made a good strong swim away release. The kid has talent. Islamorada, FL

FYI, Florida takes shark fishing very seriously, requiring those targeting sharks from shore and meeting certain requirements to pass an online course first. They also prohibit removing certain protected species from the water.

Lemon. Which he found out the next day that you aren't supposed to take them out of the water due to protection. He wasn't even shark fishing, it was purely an accidental catch and his first shark ever.

I love Islamorada! Been fishing there on party boats a few times. There used to be a great seafood buffet there but I heard it closed down.

It was actually a Lemon Shark. He learned after the fact that he wasn't supposed to "land it" (take it out of the water) because of protections.

It's a good feeling to know you've helped ignite a passion in your children which will help keep them grounded as long as they stick with it. My son (30) is hopelessly addicted to bass fishing and lives in Austin, TX. He's fishing tournaments every other weekend and took a four month leave of absence from work last year to fish.

He's back to work now and travels regularly for it. He takes a travel rod and a few baits if he's going to be someplace for more than a couple of days. He sent me a pic last year of a 16" rainbow trout he caught in a park in LA.

We got 2” of rain the last few days and snow over night in the finger lakes of NY has really put a damper on trout fishing in the creeks

Nice sharks! The second is either a bull or sandbar and more than big enough to be legal if it was a bull!

The only sizeable sharks I've been able to hook have always been on king rigs with too short and too thin wire to have any real chance of landing them.

LOL, I've had those same thoughts with sons on liberty visiting certain destinations and hoping they don't get the gift that keeps giving.
They send pics like this to old Dad. Tokyo maybe two years ago.

It makes me giggle in anticipation, of the phone call I will shortly receive.
