I just got a RRA pistol buffer tube in the mail. It has a dimple in the back that looks like it should be a hole. After looking over my other rifle buffer tubes they all have a hole. Seems like there should be a hole there. Should I go ahead and drill it out?

Isn't the hole in your rifle buffer tubes threaded to attach the buttstock?

I would imagine the pistol buffer tube isn't drilled to prevent dirt and moisture from getting in and gumming up the buffer spring.

The hole is filled on the rifle assy so it wouldn't be a concern?

For no larger than the hole would be I can't see in hurting anything except allowing dirt to get in.

I got one from RRA about a month ago. Read this post and checked it.
No hole , just a dimple.
    Maybe a centerdrill ?

I'll leave mine as is. Keep the muzzle down when it's raining. :)
