She is doing exactly what she was taught by her social justice Keynesian professors. This has been going on for decades now, but it's beginning to reach a fevered pitch.

Everyone believes they can wag the dog.

So, is this Green New Deal the ERA of my generation?

If the Green New Deal is the ERA of the 21st Century, I hope it ends the same way. A lot of noise and hoopla, then dying for a lack of interest after the general public realizes they oppose it, it is too radical, or they just don't care.

The Trump campaign for 2020 should start pumping out bright green "Keep America Great" hats to replace the red MAGA hats. How can anyone be against green?

Nevada and Illinois ratified it within the last couple of years. So in that sense, the ERA is as meaningless as the green new deal. It's way past the deadline and therefore doesn't affect the constitution. The ratification by those states is just symbolic. The green new deal is non-binding, so it is just symbolic too. But that's really the only similarity.

Red is ruined. I'll laugh my ass off if green gets ruined too.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to KG1 again.

Edit: Idunno. I keep failing at repping people. I'm either out of rep to give or I gotta spread it around. This rep system is retarded.

About this "Green New Deal"...three comments: 1) It appears she wrote this thing herself and didn't rely on high-priced lobbyists and attorneys...so there's that. 2) We were all getting tired of $2 gasoline anyway, weren't we?, 3) The name...shout out to the founder of the Socialist States of America.

Didn't one of our previous "betters," President Obama, state that the price of gasoline would "necessarily" go up under his "environmentally friendly" plans when he was first running for office?

All these ideas, such as socialism and anything and everything to combat global warming, sound great in theory until some real world consequences of implementation kick in. And it doesn't seem like the proponents learn.

Like the repackaging of good old fashioned Marxism as "democratic socialism?" Makes it seem kinder, gentler.... ;)
