Rem. 1 1/2 NOT for High Pressure loads...

The fine print on the Rem. 1 1/2 (and 6 1/2 SR) boxes says NOT for High Pressure loads, such as .357Mag, .357 Sig, or .40 S&W loads.

Trust me, it is in VERY small print!!.
Most all other Small Pistol primers will work for your .357 loads. Use Small Pistol Mag. primers on WW-296/H-110, and some other slow burning magnum powders.

I have+do load some .357 Magnum loads with Small Rifle primers. They work fine as long as you have enough hammer spring pressure.

You may try to trade your Rem. 1 1/2's for some other Small Pistol primers. CCI-500, Winchester SP work for most loads...Bill.

the 1 1/2 primers would be fine with light lead loads in a 357 and thats about it. the primer is designed for small non magnum handgun loads.

this is what Remmy says using this primer.

Special Note: These primers are NOT recommended for loading high pressure loads such as 357 Mag, 357 Sig or 40 S&W. Please conslut a Reputable Loading Manual for loading data

you would be better served using small magnum pistol primers.

Can I use Remington 1 1/2 small pistol primers for loading .357 mag rounds? If not, what should I use?

What kind of powder you using? I talked to an Alliant rep today about 2400, he said to use small pistol, but not magnum small pistol. If you want to be 100%, call the powder manufacture. Just my honest opinion...
