Got to spend time with a Kadet Kit .22LR on a CZ 75.
Been interested in getting a Kadet Kit for my Shadow 2 but price has gone from $350 to much higher.
This one I borrowed from zachcz.
    The errant rounds on ammo.
I expect to shoot app. 1" groups, but when a round goes 2" off center, I'm making excuses.

I friend I met here on INGO selling/buying guns has wanted to buy my SW 422
(made from 1987-1996) that I bought this summer.
He was waiting for it b/c he knows I am just having fun with it but I'm not through playing with it yet.

He found one last night & can't get to the range with it soon b/c of work & so he let me take it today today since he knew I was working with scopes on rifles.
I put it on my 2" pistol targets that I enjoy.

    2” circles
    21’ distance
    On rest
    Fine-tuning adjustments along the way.
    Both have the 6" barrel.
#6 was looking best then I had a 3 o’clock flyer on my last shot.
Zach will take both of them to the range & shoot both better than me free hand.

    43/50 = 86%

    Mine: 47/50 = 94%

    Mine is on the right.
My grips on the right are lighter hue & little wider as well.

Trying out the little all metal Bersa that I picked up from a member.
Not the most accurate, but I enjoy shooting the gun just b/c it is so different than most of what I shoot.
Like other small pistols, 15' is fine (on the left), but 21' on the right, not so much.
    Circles are 2".

Shot my recently acquired Smith 617-5 six inch 22lr and put it up against one of my best shooting centerfire revolvers - my 686-4 six inch 357. The 686 wore a Burris 1X Gil Hebard bullseye target dot scope and the 617 a 2 MOA Ultradot.

Fired 12 shots each at 25 yards from a standing position in SA. The group sizes were close but the 357 has more shots centered. I sighted the 617 with a different ammo before trying the Blazer used to fire the target. Next time maybe a part II at 50 yards.

To me, targets look awesome, especially from standing for 25 yds!
    I can't imagine at 50 yds.
Anytime I shot .38 revolvers (usually a S/W variant of some sort), they always did fantastic & better than my .22LR revolvers: a total pleasure to shoot & makes me with I'd held on to at least one of the 4" SW .38 revolvers.

Every once in awhile I get to test out a member's gun.
I really won the prize this time.
    Range pics will be forthcoming.
Owner used this to do well in years past shooting this in competition.
I might not be happy with any other .22LR gun after shooting this.

The Russian Baikal IZH-35M is a Soviet-designed target pistol for competitive shooting sports.

I remember those Russian pistols. My friend that shoots bullseye said they were very good pistols . I was able to shoot his bullseye gun back in the 1990s - a Pardini. The Baikal reminds of it somewhat. Could not really shoot it that well as he had a left hand grip on it and I shoot right handed. He shot it good enough to win the Camp Perry 22 pistol championship in 1999.

These days my most often fired 22 pistol is usually my 4" Ruger 22/45. Just got the lower back from Volquartsen with a new trigger/sear.

Looking forward to the range pics.

I was so excited to spend time with this Russian Baikal IZH-35M competition pistol that a member wanted me to try out. :ingo:
I used the 1.75" circle pics that I use with all my .22 pistols, but next time out I want to use my combined 1/2" & 1" circle targets I use with my rifles at 25 yds. :ar15:

    I only had three .22 handguns I've shot 49/50 (5 rds on 10 targets on a sheet).
    Handguns w/o optics I shoot at 21' & w/optics I shoot at 30'.
I was dialing in the red dot on the Russian gun the entire time.
After a few 6 round mags of practice, I started out at 30' on row 1 & 2 & then 21' on row 3 & could have easily shot 50/50.
On row 4 my performance at 45' reflects more on trying to find the proper adjustment & me not being able to see the 1.75" orange circle at 45'. :dunno:
I had 6/120 rounds failure to feed with either magazine using the CCI SV.

After establishing what I can do with the SV, & having fun experimenting with different targets,
I'll get out the Eley Sport ammo that the owner made available & see how that tightens up the groups.
Totally my idea of fun! :rockwoot:

Can't wait to get back to the range with it.

    Keep shooting!
It does my heart a world of good to see it being shot.
I cannot tell you how much fun I've already had with that pistol I got from you. Here's a hint :24gr Swiss black powder & 185 lead swc.

2 days in a row with the Russian Baikal IZH-35M .22LR competition pistol.
1st time ever taking only 1 gun to the range, but I was so excited about spending all the time I wanted with this today b/c yesterday & had to leave "early." :laugh6:

Used a number of different targets, 2 of which I'd never used before. :rockwoot:
I got tired during a 4 hour session & nearly a brick of CCI SV. :fogey:
I continued to have jams/failure to feed/load nearly every magazine. :wallbash:
Strangely enough, mostly on the 2nd round of a new mag it would not feed. :dunno:
Sometimes it would not feed chambering the 1st round of a fresh mag.
Only a few times did it have no issue.
I think it is the mags & how the round is positioned in the mag?

I got out a 1/4" white circle with a 1/2" red circle target that I haven't used with the rifles yet.
% accuracy of the 3 rows with the 5 targets on each:
    - 1/4" = 40%, 28% & 40% accuracy
    - 1/2" = 100%, 84% & 80%

The target with 20 small animals I shot 1 round at a time in a row & then started over the same row again.

I couldn't believe that I didn't keep all the rounds in the 1.75" circles at 45'.
I am the weak point/X factor. :dunno:
    I especially was surprised that I only got 48/50 (96%) with the 1 & 13/16" circles.

Might need to wipe the feed ramp...it's been known to be 100% reliable.
I got some better ammo I can get to you,but the accuarcy seems to be there. Let me know what I can do to help/tweak it.
Meanwhile....you would not believe the belch of smoke and fire out of theBP 44 loads:)
Then I switched to BE86 ,180gr jhp, it just lays them right down the pipe.

I really enjoyed putting the rounds through it today.
In reading about them, I read where there needs to be some cleaning around 500 rounds.
Could explain the increasing issues with feeding.
I'll send you an email with some other questions.

Cleaned up the Russian Biakal IZH-35M a little to alleviate the FTL.
    But it continued.
Owner said he only loaded 5 rds per mag.
When I did that, it improved greatly.
On a previous day that had not helped, but perhaps some cleaning & the 5 rds was the magic answer.

The 1.75" (13/16" exactly, I think) red circles on the 10 target sheet improved today.
I would have had 50/50 but I forgot to tighten up the 3 screws on the slide like I was instructed.
When I had that flier on target #3, I realized it & kept it tightened up. :ugh:

The 3/8" & 7/8" blue circle targets I use with Rifles at 25 yds.
I tried using them today with a red dot at 30' with these pistols.
Problem is, I couldn't see the blue circles well w/o magnification, & grouped poorly.
The groups were worse than on the red 1.75" circles, & getting tired didn't help.
I was shooting at 30' & not 21' all day: I labeled it wrong. :wallbash:

Russian Biakal IZH-35M on rows 1-3.
    S/W 41 on rows 4 & 5.
Not at all pleased with my groups today.
Should have stuck with using the 3/4" circles. :lmfao:
