Shot the Sig 226 & the Glock 44 together today 21'.
I'll spare you the range pics: nothing special there, like most of my pics .

I shot 5 rounds at 10 blue 7/8" squares for each gun.
The Glock shot 11/50 rounds into the 7/8" blue squares & the Sig 226 shot 8/50.
The Sig did get the best group: .8"

As I suspected, they both felt similar, but I do like the hammer on the Sig 226.

    I shot 3 .22LR revolvers w/o optics today at 21'.
Shooting at 7/8" blue squares of 5 rounds each.

The Taurus Tracker 970 hit 5/15 rounds (33%).
The SW 17-4 hit 4/25 rounds (16%), but will do better after being cleaned.
The Dan Wesson is the winner again being the superior gun in every way: 18/50 rounds (36%) in the blue.

    I really enjoy the revolvers!
I have another revolver: Ruger Single Action Hunter with a 7.25" barrel with a scope on it that is sweet to shoot as well.

The long sight radius of the BIG Dan Wesson is definitely an advantage in open sight shooting. I seen this myself with my 10" Ruger MKII when I could see the sights well. The Dan Wesson tensioned barrel is suppose to aid in accuracy as well. I looked at some Dan Wesson 22s on gunbroker , prices in the $700+ area and up! One of the DW 22s would be a great addtion to my 22 revolver collection.

I remember the Single Six Hunter , very nice one too!

we love shooting our 617's with Red Dots on them . I just need to buy some Speed Bee Loaders

My 617-1 4" with Vortex Venom is one of my favorites!

Installed the Hogue grips today for the Taurus Tracker 970.
I would have preferred an even larger grip.
I'm afraid I've gotten spoiled with some great grips on other guns.
I wonder if the Pachmayr would have had another 1/2" more purchase?

Ordered Hogue grips at grips4guns.com., of which this company was recommended b/c of no shipping charges.
    $24

    Original grips:

    Original grips in the hand.
My middle finger would take a bit of a beating upon recoil due to design.

    Hogue grips installed:

    Hogue grips in the hand.
Better protection for the middle finger.

I like the Hogues, especially for revolvers. The Tracker looks good with Hogue grips. I am debating buying wood Hogues for my 617 revolver. Have a set on my Taurus 96 .

I've put them on everything from the smaller framed Ruger SP101 revolver to a CZ Shadow 2: around 6 different guns.
I've always wanted to try out the Pachmayr rubber grips, but have end up defaulting to what I know: Hogue.

Same here I have them on most of my Smith revolvers and even a few semi autos - a Ruger P90 and a Sig P239. The only gun I have with Pachmayr grips is an older Walther PPK/S.

I used this target for 5 semi-autos today, all .22LR (top center #1, was a revolver used previously).
The Browning Buckmark Hunter 7.25 barrel (#4, #5 & #6) with a scope never disappoints. :rockwoot:

The Beretta 87 Target (#7 & #10) with a scope, continues to disappoint, since it is called a "Target" gun: misnomer imo. :spend:
I have nearly 3x the $$ in the 87 than the Buckmark, but the Buckmark outshines it. :dunno:
I like the gun, especially with the wooden grips I got for it, but I will have to shoot better to keep a place in the safe. :draw:

The SW 442 I just picked up shoots better than most others, which is fun.

The Glock 44 (#2) & Sig 226 (#3) shoot on par with each other, although I thought the 226 would beat it out. :ugh:
I was so disappointed in their performance, I didn't bother to shoot more targets with them.

Ammo: CCI Blazer, 38 grain, 1235 FPS, SLN (solid lead nose).
21' for guns w/o a scope & 30' for guns with scopes, on a bean bag hand rest.

Looks like it’s time to get rid of the g44. The p17 shoots better and is literally half the price. The tx22 for 100 or so less absolutely destroys it. Buckmark and smith look solid. I agree with beretta. It’s such a cool gun and looks cool but doesn’t shoot well from your experiences and the range trip I had with it. Probably need to send it to a beretta collector and not anyone thst is a semi serious shooter!

the sig really surprises me with it’s scattered group. Thought it would have been better

Had fun with a couple of older .22LR semi-autos today at Point Blank in Greenwood shooting with a friend.
SW 422: 1987-1996 Belongs to me.
    Walther SP22: 2008-2010 Belongs to a friend.
This Walther (made by SW) has some very unique design features with a 1.5" grip with a little bit of weight to it (27 oz, I think).

Both agreeably accurate for a casual shooter like myself, better than many others I've shot w/o optics.

Got in a few rounds with this little Sig 938-22 I like for no reason I cannot explain, other than I like having a very small .22LR semi-auto in the safe.
You can tell its a well made .22LR semi-auto.
Accurate enough at 15' & needs work at 21'.

    21' on a hand rest.
    No optics.
Ammo: CCI Blazer, 38 grain, 1235 FPS, SLN

Walther SP22: estimated 47 pts. (based on shooting 4/10 targets only).
Sig 938-22: estimated 37 pts. (based on shooting 6/10 targets only)

Using my new handgun targets to get a baseline of accuracy for all my .22LR handguns.
    Handguns w/o optics are at 21' & w/optics at 30'.
Very enjoyable day at the range.

Ruger Mark 4 with an NcStar 4x30 scope = 36 pts.

    Ruger Mark 3 w/red dot = 49 pts.

    SW 22A-1 w/Pro-Class 4x30 scope = 40 pts.

    Browning Buckmark Hunter w/RWS 1.5x20 scope = 47 pts.

    Apparently!
Not sure if is the red dot or the Mark 3 series or a combination of both.
The Mark 3 was a good shooter with the iron sights also.
I do intend to replace the 4x30 scopes with red dots since I'm wobbling all over the place.
I was warned about a fixed scope at x4 at such a close distance.
The fixed 1.5 x 20 scope does fine on the Browning Buckmark Hunter.

Took 4x30 fixed scopes off SW22A-1 & Ruger M4 & put on red dots, and shot the SW 41 that has a red dot already.

30' using CCI SV = 48 pts. (1st time with these "handgun" targets).

    SW22A-1 @30 feet with red dot = 48 pts. (mistakenly wrote 49 on bottom of target b/c I missed #8= #4 not #5).

Just think what you could do with the Walther with a red dot. 50/50 for sure

Rain day = indoor range day.
    This was an improvement.

Couldn't finish all 10 targets, so I estimated for parity.
    RXofKxo.jpg

Glock calls it a "target barrel." I don't think so.
    Kv3YDj7.jpg

Big improvement over last time of 39 pts. using Armscor ammo instead of Aguila Super Extra today.
    Ammo or just me?
Sweet trigger, feels like a lighter version of the SW 41.
A pleasure to shoot after shooting the Glock 44.

Glad you’re realizing what the Glock really is. I think the old saying you can let make chicken salad out of chicken **** comes to mind.
