Glad you’re realizing what the Glock really is. I think the old saying you can let make chicken salad out of chicken **** comes to mind.

At least your consistent with your pro-Taurus advocacy.
    Score at my hand:
    Taurus: 40 pts.
    Glock: 35 pts.
I think I can improve either with practice, but since I'm not buying the Taurus, I won't be able to hone my skills with Taurus.
But, with a 5 pt. spread between them: you've made your point. :dunno:

    4 pistols
Wanted to see how the SW MP Compact would do against the Glock 44.
G44 is on the "maybe sell" list.
    Used CCI Blazer 38 grain, 1235 FPS @ 21'.

26/50 pts by SW MP Compact vs. Glock 44 35/50 pts. on the 2" pistol targets.
    DrZyPBK.jpg

    On a rest.
    Glock 44 (8) & SW Compact (6 & 9) nearly same here.
    58LNTDX.jpg

Free hand for a reality check.
SW Compact better with free hand here for unknown reasons.
    MFJ5KXi.jpg

    Gun = Rest; Free
    Glock = 8; 1 & 2 (shocking)
    Sig = 226 9; 4
    GSG 1911 = 9; 8 (only good one)
    SW MP Compact = 6 & 9; 7 (decent perhaps)

    Borrowed a friend's Bersa Thunder .22LR.
I bought a new one couple of years ago & found it a little finicky about ammo.
I did find brands that worked, but I had no tolerance for finicky at the time, but now understand that is just the way of the .22LR. :dunno:
I bought it b/c it was all metal with a hammer.
Sold it June of 2018 I think.

Today, I enjoyed shooting it muchly (I know that is not grammatically correct but I love having fun with words :ugh:).
I tried 3 kinds of ammo: CCI Mini-Mags, CCI Blazer & Aguila SE.
All solid copper or lead nose.
I thought I'd brought a bucket of Rem. Golden Bullets, but I had used the container to put extra 9mm in it.
That's twice now I've done that! :wallbash:

I had no malfunctions except a FTF twice with Aguila, but the rounds fired when I ran them through again.
CCI Mini-Mags had the tightest groups.

Funniest thing I've heard all day!
Poke fun at Bersa, but I've had a nickel finish .22LR & a compact 9mm that was wonderful & had a competition model that was only bettered by a hair buy my CZ Shadow 2.
But, I'm the X factor & not that great a shot.
If I remember correctly, you can shoot free hand better than I can shoot on a rest. :dunno:
    I'm full of excuses.
Bersas are not pretty: dull black boring finish, but they are really great machines!

Probably one of the best students I've had but this was the first time he had a pistol in his hands shooting my TX-22 with an optic on it. One flyer and 7 shots in the circled group @ 5 yards and 5 shots in the group to the right shooting at the B. Ammo was Rem thunderbolts.
Maybe there's something wrong with your process?

Just grabbed a few guns that fit in my new range bag that my daughter gave me at Thanksgiving, since my medium sized suitcase I have on wheels is falling apart.

The Sig 938-22 shoots better than it shows here in by looking at the group.
The Sig 226-22 continues to shoot low even with the rear elevation up, maybe I'll have to get a lower front sight if I'm to keep it.
I always enjoy shooting the GSG 1911-22 that ZRT had done upgrades: feel great in the hand, love the weight & the the front red optic sight.
I had sold that a year or so ago & bought it back when I had a chance.
The SW MP Compact & Glock 44 polymers are holding their own.

I really like this Sig Sauer 226-22.
It feels much like the Glock in my hand, but better.
Selling Glock whenever I get around to it, since I like the feel of this one better & I'm slowly trimming (again).
    It loves CCI HV.
Love the big 3 white dot sights & have enjoyed them on other guns since my eyes take to them well.
I spent time tweaking the sights today before these rounds with just another click or two needed to get them where I wanted for my eyes.
Strangely enough, these blue squares are not 1" or 3/4" but are 13/16". Why?

    Point Blank again.
Been neglecting the SW 41 & I only had 3 boxes of CCI SV, so I used them before I hit the other guns.
I was sure I was going to get 50/50, but I messed up on #8 target.
Last time in Oct. I did a 48/50.

5 of the targets had a 1" group when I measured them.
The red dots are 1.75" & including the black ring around the red, 1 13/16".
21' on a rest using a Bushnell red dot.

Good shooting. The sw41 is almost on par with how well you shoot the mk iii

Since the Sig 226 & the Glock are similar to me I thought split one of my 10 in 1 1.75 inch targets, with 5 each.
I didn't touch the sights today since I did that 2 days ago.
The Glock 44 edged out the Sig 226 today.
The Sig has a hammer, but I like the big white 3 dot sights on the Glock, plus one of the easiest magazines to load.
Using Armscor HV HP 36 grain on a rest.

that looks like a 50/50 going. It either you sneezed while shooting the round thst missed by two inches or had a very badly loaded round. Thst would be means enough to write arms or a very harshly worded business letter to let them know they ruined your perfect target and how serious this hobby is.

Good Point & here is your proof, but it doesn't always shoot this well which is probably b/c of the ammo. Or me.

I have had the sniffles lately. :)
    Outdoors, I blame the wind.:dunno:
Indoors, I blame the ammo (since I can't blame the wind).
Only as a last choice, do I blame Me.

Since the Beretta 87 sold yesterday, I just brought the Ruger Mark 3 that did so well & the SW 41 today.
I didn't shoot the Mark 3 as well.
I was using CCI SV instead of the Armscor that gave me such good results a couple of days ago.
Won't be the first time another ammo brand has done better in a rifle or handgun than CCI SV.

    I shot 5 targets each of the 41 & RM3.
SW 41 at 24/25 rounds at 96% of all rounds inside the 1.75" circles.
    RM3 at 19/25 rounds at 76%.
    QyTXj3C.jpg

With the Beretta 87 gone I can't wait to see what other handguns will get 90% accuracy for me.

Great thread! I've been thinking about buying a rifle and pistol in .22Lr and you have convinced me.

Even those who have multiple guns & calibers of guns always have a couple of .22LR in the safe somewhere.
"Rimfire Madness: The Infection Begins," is a good thread about different .22LRs you could find informative.
There are many threads about .22 guns & everyone has an opinion about which the prefer.

I have bought revolvers, pistols & rifles from the $200 range up to the $800 range or sometimes more & have enjoyed them all.
I don't know what age your son is, that would determine a good starting level to learn the basics & then to appreciate moving up to the next level.
Enjoy the journey with your son!
