I did give Jim's self defense bill a look finally. Only difference I saw between SB 143 and HB 1114 was HB 1114 adds "fixed place of business" to the locations under Castle Doctrine.
    Just curious.
Would a mobile food truck qualify as a "fixed place of business"?

I'm thinking it would have to be non-mobile to be fixed. HOWEVER, that is an occupied vehicle, which is currently codified under Castle Doctrine.

Nothing online yet but I saw the Fox 59 blurb on HB 1077. Pretty much down the middle on coverage.

In all honesty, this (the above description) is what I’d like to see all our “news” outlets providing.
“At the Statehouse today, House Bill 1077, a bill that would allow people who can qualify for a license to carry a handgun, to do so without being required to obtain that license. There were several people here on both sides of the issue to speak to the representatives about it, and the bill passed the committee 9-3. Back to you, Ted.”

    No “spin”.
    No emotion.
    No tugging at the heartstrings.
Just the facts, man. (Apologies to Joe Friday)

    Blessings,
    Bill

To bad the news didn't show the questioning of the State Trooper about what happens to those who have been known to be violent felons who actually tried to apply for a license plus are forbidden by law to possess a firearm. The officer got crucified by both sides when he couldn't answer what steps were taking afterwards to see if the know violent felon was investigated. The trooper wasn't having a good time during this part of speaking lol..

Well, I wasn't there, but if you're going to go speak on a topic, you should probably have all relevant information ready at hand if not in head.

Compare and contrast Jen Psaki vs. Kaylee Mcananey

One had ready answers, on the ball, knew her stuff cold.

The other is the "circle back girl".... not even enough to call her a "woman"..... "girl". That word alone in that context speaks volumes.

Who was the lady yesterday who sat there and tried to lecture Jim Lucas on his compassion of the Constitution and how its ok to make people have a license to carry so you can exercise their constitutional rights after the hearings and right before voting on the bill?

That was probably Jody ****ing Medeira (I started adding the "****ing" to her name last year.) With that level of narcissism academia or politics is about the only place she could be employed.

Here's the link to the story:

    Thank you SS25!

This one leaned a bit left for my taste. Opens with (my verbiage here) "In a time with gun violence, AAAHHHH!!!"

The newsie probably didn't know the blue shirts they showed were The 2A Project.

The first person you see testifying at the 0:30 mark will be described in the my notes from Wednesday as "masked hipster anti".

No names on the people shown testifying at the Statehouse, including the actual identity of the dude with the distinguished grey beard at the 0:45 mark (my last name is not Inavon.) That was my closing line and summed up ConC at present in this Country (I thought so anyway.)

Showed him, but did not play any audio from Sheriff Quakenbush (Hamilton County) who gave us the "Calling 911 should not be your Plan A for self-defense" line.

Corrine Youngs from the Attorney General's Office was shown testifying "this supports the Constitution."

I don't think they realized the gentleman in the sport coat was speaking in support, he was just all over the place at times and wanted the bill to go further.

State Po-Po entourage shown hatin on the 1077. Didn't show Chairman Smaltz leveling him with the "Do you know how many felons are carrying guns now?" question.

1:46 mark: shows some unconstitutional State's gun permit application since there is a "permit to purchase a firearm" choice.

This is gonna get interesting folks!

In general, anything on the news is going to be slanted that way, though, Kelly. However it will make the most people upset.... (watch the original "Die Hard" movie and how the one reporter acted.... The one the wife clocked at the end..... to see what I mean)

Overall, based on that story and the coverage you and the others present have provided, I think this went well.

And much as your last name is not Inavon, a certain former mod who shall remain nameless here once suggested that my parents were patriotic. And Irish. He thought my last name was O'Rights. lol

Thank you and thank everyone who was able to be there for standing up for our rights!

    Blessings,
    Bill

As I read things, 1077 May go before the full house for 2nd reading on Monday. The house posted their agenda today for their Monday meeting.
Kelly, is that how you read it?
    @KellyinAvon
You are correct, sir! Up for second reading on the House floor. Third reading is where the House votes, if it passes it goes to the Senate where it starts over. Can have amendments introduced, that's always a charlie foxtrot.
