It's not bad when it's colder out so you can cover that handle. There are quite a few good IWB holsters that are nice as well. The guns are very thin which is a huge plus for cc.

The smaller 1911s (command and officer) are very concealable.

This was my ride today... 4" barrel, compact frame, IWB with a long-sleeved Tshirt over it.
    Yeah, it's doable.

With a small of the back holster it is not too bad. The only problem is when you bend over, it will outline on your shirt in a big way. Of course driving for any distance will make you want to unholster. I used a yaki slide that would accomodate a full size, a commander, and the officers model.

    Carry 1911

Have carried a 1911 on and off since the 70's.....I can carry one in a IWB Milt Sparks under a T shirt and never be made ( strong side carry).....you have to dress for the gun. I have also trained a lot of small petite females & small frame men in the past 30 years to carry full size auto's concealed. Again, you have to dress for the gun. If you are wearing a shirt with tails out, or a hoodie, or a jacket....it is very easy to carry a 1911....you can use a OWB also if u dress correctly. I always carry two xtra mags also.

I carry mine all the time in a Safariland paddle holster just aft of the hip bone and slide it forward to ride in truck. My wife is on the market for her own fullsize with the intention of edc. We both are loving the 1911. I also picked up a Kahr CW45 for warmer weather or quick runs here and there in a Ramora type holster IWB. I would also like to try a IWB for the 1911 and see how it feels.

Here is my M1911A2 that I CC all the time. I carry in either a Fobus Paddle or a shoulder rig and I am always wearing a jacket or hoodie of some sort and have never been made.

I will also say that I am 6' 4" and around 250 pounds so I am not what you would call small.

I carry a 3.5" 1911, sometimes IWB in a nylon holster, and other times OWB in a leather Holster. Depends on the shirt or vest I'm wearing.

I understand wanting to conceal a 1911. I wouldn't want to be seen carrying one, either. Get a Glock, SIG, or an M&P and open carry.

    Wow, troll much?

I generally carry a full sized Kimber TLE II concealed, though I do occasionally OC it because it is too pretty to hide. I carry at about 5 o'clock and have only been spotted once - by a fellow leader who carries regularly as well.
