Just got this in my emial inbox:
Indiana's treasured "Castle Doctrine" ("A man's home is his castle") which allows Hoosiers to defend their homes with lethal force, has been challenged. Richard Barnes, a citizen, attempted to block police making an unlawful entry into his home. Indiana's...
Im looking for stats that will show deaths by age, gender, race, cause and dates. If such a database exists. Including all accidents like drowning, auto, firearms, farm, and on the job and such. I dont want death stats that include natural causes.
Ha! They told her that embracing taking a look at legalising marijuana in Indiana would be a career killer, but when she asked her constituents they were overwhelmingly in favour of it. Of course the usual republican drug warriors are against it, they have too much to lose. At least one grown up...

Over the past year and 1/2 I have been restoring my 1998 BMW M3 Sedan. Now that the car is mechanically sound I'm focusing on the body and paint. The car does not look bad at all for 13 years old but has many issues including nicks, dings, dents, scratches, a bit of rust, orange peel etc...
I've spent a bit of time following up on the IN Supreme court ruling which stated:
“We hold that there is no right to reasonably resist unlawful entry by police officers.”
I joined many other people in contacting our Attorney General, who issued a press release that included this interesting...

This is a short list that I have complied after seeing one thread fail, and a couple more asking the same question. I hope I didn't leave anyone out, but as I haven't been all over the state to every shop, I'm sure I have. I got as much info as I could find on the listed shops, and I hope it...
Business Insider has rated Indiana as the #3 state in those listed as having pension funds due to run out. We've got a few years before that happens, but when it does that will mean our taxes are going to have to rise to meet the governments obligations to pay off their employees retirements...
Previously most vaccine "scheduling" pushed by public schools was on students in grades between K-5th. New Indiana law beginning in the 2010-2011 school year requires* kids to get immunized in older grades too... 6th-12th.
New vaccine requirements for Indiana 6th- through 12th-graders

The states "Homestead Credit" expires next year and your property taxes are going to go up. Everyone better hope that the tax caps get passed. Even those should be nothing more than a stepping stone to abolishing property taxes, (something neither the reps or dems are likely to ever get behind...
Don't believe it? Well one of the 3 finalists nominated for the Indiana Supreme court is Judge Robyn Moberly, the family court judge that said the 2nd Amendment nor Article 1 section 32 of the Indiana State Constitution apply to me while I am in my house. This was an order she gave on June 1...
They "brought in" $957 million less than they spent. Looks like they managed to balance the books in the end, but the trend of spending has to stop and reverse, if Indiana isn't going to go the way of Illinois. The legislators have to get their act together and take a machete to any future...
I originally wrote this as a blog post, so it doesn't quite fit the forum. And for the record, I am not a lawyer. Do not take this as legal advice. I'm just a guy who likes reading the law and analyzing its consequences. Don't go being an idiot and getting yourself involved in fights with...
I have been thinking lately about some of the things that led to the rise of Obama. I voted in the primaries in 2008; by then the Republican nomination had been sealed.... I HAD NO VOICE.
This needs to change. Indiana is skipped in the primaries because of our May primary date. Hoosiers...
