      CCW for the ladies

I carry a Glock 26 IWB just behind my hip. I'm 5'5" 130lbs. It's not 100% concealed all the time like with a fitted tshirt it certainly prints, but that's not terribly important to me. I shoot it well. I like shooting it well enough (I prefer the G19 at the range) to practice with it. I usually...

Need help deciding on a 9mm my wife can shoot with me

I'm pretty recoil sensitive. I *can* shoot .45, but I don't find it very fun. My favorite 9mm to shoot is a Glock 19. It's the right mix of small enough to manage easily and fit my hand, but not so small that its so light it's jumping around on me.

      Daughter wants a gun!

I'm not a heck of a lot older than your daughter. I really like Glocks for carry/self defense. They're pretty much idiot proof. I know me, I don't want to have to mess around with safeties and whatnot if I'm in a situation where I'm bringing a gun into play. I want to be able to point and...

      GSD Fans...

Dogs inherently don't want to mess in their den/where they sleep. If you crate them in a crate just big enough for them to lie down comfortably (you don't want them to be able to have a potty space and a sleeping space within the kennel) and keep them kenneled when you can't be supervising them...

      Suggestions for a Handgun?

I have not, although they are on the list.

      Kennel Recommendations?

Zionsville Country Kennel is awesome. They're right off the 65/865 exit. They put up with my insane childhood dog and actually liked her. My old border collie loved going there.

      Suggestions for a Handgun?

I'm partial to the 9mm Glocks. The 19 is my favorite to shoot, but the 26 is easier to conceal. It's a little more difficult to shoot, but it's a trade off there for ability to conceal it. I have small hands too and the Glocks are comfortable for me. That said, play around because I also find...

      Gun for wife

I wouldn't count Glocks out. I'm a tiny little girl who can very comfortably handle them. Yes, I have to push/pull to rack it, but it's very doable. Its obviously more difficult for me than a stronger guy, but its not hard once I figured out the motion. My favorite two are the 19 and 26. The 19...

Prepare To Pay More For Using Your Plastic

There's a problem with always paying cash for things. I have always paid cash for everything with the exception of my car and that payment has always been on time. Now I want to buy a house and am getting all kinds of static from the banks despite the fact that I have a good credit score and...

Is there public horseback riding in northern IN?

Do a google search for lesson barns in your area. A decent lesson program should be happy to allow you to come watch a lesson before committing to one yourself. Make sure you can deal with their teaching style. The horses should have pleasant expressions (ears pinned generally nasty...

Is there public horseback riding in northern IN?

Are you trying to find trail riding places? If so, there is riding at Ft Harrison in Indianapolis. It's slightly closer than Brown County. I'd just call around to the State Parks up there and see if they know of anything. I believe there is also a private barn in Brownsburg that will take people...

On the preservation of eggs - olde style

I've seen this in several old books. I've also put mineral oil on them and they keep for months without refrigeration.

Yes! He was an amazing dog!

So the wife wants a Shephard...

My :twocents: on this: 1.) A GSD is going to naturally be a protective dog, regardless of training. That's what they're bred for. 2.) With a new baby in the house, I'd recommend going with an older puppy or adult dog. If you're open to rescues, the woman who runs GSD Indy is fantastic...

Really? How do you figure? You seriously think someone "deserves" an abusive spouse/ex-spouse?!

"I want to take firearms training classes, but they're so expensive!"

I'm new to gun ownership and I definitely plan on taking as many classes as time and money allows. The first couple I plan on taking are Guy's classes out at Eagle Creek at my cousin's insistence (apparently he knows him). I come from the horse world where taking lessons and training...

Getting first smartphone tomorrow which to get?

I've had zero problems with my iPhone 4 (not 4s). I really like it. Its easy to use and hasn't given me any problems whatsoever. I've had Verizon for 11 years and they also haven't given me any issues. In fact, when I split my number off of my ex-husband's, they reinstated the unlimited data...

How to make dog stop digging holes in yard

Several people have given you legitimate advice. You don't seem to want to hear it though. Not sure what you want to hear. There's no magical way to get the dog to stop digging without some work on your part. Of course the dog acts happy when it's playing with someone outside with him...

      GSD Fans...

You all have some beautiful dogs! I can't wait until I get my new house so I can get one! For all you GSD fans out there looking to get a shelter/rescue dog the local (Indy area) GSD rescue does a good job from what I can tell. Her adoption policies and fees are reasonable. She prefers...
