    Can't you just take a vitamin D3?

FWIW, my doctor said the studies on the effectiveness of oral vitamin D (which sounds like innuendo...) is mixed at best. He says it can't hurt, but it probably won't help much or at all. Mine was low last few blood tests, but that's likely a combination of my shift and the season.

My moms labs said she was low and doc prescribed 5000units, about 6 months later new labs and doc said to reduce to 3000units. I know everyone's individual biochemistry is different.

apparently he/she/it thinks there is. House we were trying to get down to see has an accepted offer, so back to the drawing board.

Have you considered renting in an area for awhile to get the lay of the land and verify it's for you before you commit to buying? You don't have to be as picky since you're not so stuck with it, find out what various local neighborhoods have to offer, and if you actually like the area. Then you can find the exact right house at a more leisurely pace if you decide it is the area for you. It's the only approach I'll use moving somewhere I've not lived before, but it does add a layer of logistics because moving sucks so I get it may not be for everyone.

I start taking vitamin d when I notice I’m a little more pessimistic and remember the suns not out as much.
Pretty much helps me instantly, like within a day or two.

We aren’t moving for anothe 5-6 years. We want to find someplace that can be vacation home that we can lend to friends etc until we get to that point. If it’s not what we like in 5 years we can sell and move on. We will only be saddled with a mortgage for about 5-6 years until we sell out up here.

8-10’years ago I got that same bump. Sadly I no longer do. I’m trying really hard to keep that dark side down especially with the tank so low this year. It’s going to be a rough one for me.

No, he can go away, but also stay here and bother us!
    That’s the beauty of it, a win/win!

@bobzilla it wouldn’t be the same without you. I and most others here are just teasing you, I think.
There are always unhappy people that need to bring others down. That’s just life. I know the ones that are having fun’s and I appreciate you. The others…. Well I’m not at liberty to speak my mind about it but big red could cover it pretty well.

To get a price on that I think I will draw up a floor plan based off of one of their default sizes. I did that with our current house, sorta. I drew up plans based off sizes we wanted for different rooms etc.

Make sure to use lumber prices based on the outskirts of Telluride to be most accurate.
If your building a barndominium I might even show up to help drill some post holes.

I think these articles tend to be media fluff, who knows what variables they used and how close to your variables they are, but perhaps of some interest:

How long $1 million lasts in retirement in each state. Not sure if they expect a 0% return or what, but it's an interesting substitute for cost of living. OK was never on my board until fairly recently, but I could see living there for a few years. Not so much for OK itself, but you can be so many places in a day's drive. Depending on where in OK, close to DFW for air travel. I'd definitely rent before committing, though.

I know the OP is adamant about staying in Indiana, but thought it may be of some interest. :lmfao:

Well, we made an offer and accepted for 4.59 ac in Crystal River Florida. Wife was off on Monday so I took it off and Saturday we headed south. After fighting the snow and ice at 4:30am and taking an extra 2 hours to get to the Louisville bridge, we made it to her cousins house in Lecanto. Sunday, while raining and mid 50's we checked it out for ourselves.

Very secluded feeling, close to everything. $80k for almost 5 acres. High and dry, no flood zones around it etc.

Very nice, congrats! I wonder how many skeeters there are in those woods during spring and summer. In southern Indiana, there aren't many, but holy hell, there are mega tick populations. Late summer they disappear thankfully. We just bought 5 acres in NW Ohio that has a metal pole barn, well, septic, and full RV hook ups for a reasonable price. It has some small hills too surprisingly and not a lot of people around, no major highways or trains for miles.
