Thanks for the rep. It's really all just Monday morning quaterbacking. Personally I don't believe Lincoln's actions were some kind of evil plot as some contend. He did at the time what he felt was necessary to preserve the Union. To expect a President to simply idly sit by and allow the United States to be torn in two is crazy IMO.
