Been to Schoop's in Warsaw (before they closed) and the one in Michigan city. Neither one impressed me. Plenty of other places to get a better burger. I'd put Schoops in the same category as Steak and Shake, which I'll never go back to either.

I mean, octave grill was better than schoops. But miner dunns, burgerhues, and others, just don't have that smash burger crunch.

Schoops is in the smashburger category which many around the region are not.

It has its niche place in the burger world.

That is because you have not experienced the absolute garbage burgers to be found in NWI, especially the ones north of 30. Schoops is like a ruby encrusted golden gift from the treasure vault of Xerxes, by comparison.

I don't "hate" the burgers, as much as I disdain the restaurant in general because the smell of it leaches into your body and you can't wash it off your hands; it has to wear off of its own accord. There's also something about their grill and fryers that makes the food work as a 40 minute laxative. I'll stick with a juicy burger over the meat crisp thing at poops.

Grandpa was a fan on their polish sausage. but jedi got to spent time with grandpa so that is what mattered.

He did prefer zels over boz but man those chili dogs were messy.

Dyer is NOT hammond.

It's not the food it's the location that jedi remembers.

Hammond and Lansing were the ones grandpa would take jedi. The one is Lansing he would take me when he went to the hardware store.



Plus Dyer is ohnsonclose to south of us30. That fresh air blows into Dyer at times. That air can kill jedi.

Radius in Valpo has good burgers, but I won't pay that much for a burger. I only go when I have a sponsor in town for work.

You must not of eaten anywhere worth a damn if you prefer schoops to just about anywhere else. I could see schoops being good if all you eat is fast food burgers

I would rather eat a whopper than a Schoops burger. At least with a whopper, you know it's more about all the goopy **** they put on it than it is about the actual meat.

I've heard great things about Beef House. Actually ate there a couple decades ago, but it was during my drinking days, so don't remember much about it.
