And to put a finer point on my last post, I think they may have had issues for years. 10-15 years ago I used to go to the same church as him. It was always just him at the service. I never talked to him as we left shortly after he started attending. (only together several Sundays) But he always sat alone, never fellowshipped, etc. Not sure if folks steered clear because they didnt want to "talk shop" or what. I found it kind of odd.

Or they havent been together that long. Not sure.

If you can't keep your marriage together, you probably shouldn't be responsible for running a city.

Oh brother. That ranks right up there with if your business ever went bankrupt “you probably shouldn't be responsible for running a city.

Can’t stand the guy but this has no bearing on the job and the job may be what is breaking the marriage..

I think you can judge a lot about a person's character by the state of their house.

Maybe maybe not. Not directly relevant to this split, but what if your spouse cheats on you and runs away with the pool boy? Should you lose your leadership job as well? Your house is not in order is it not?

Well it has been an interesting campaign that has felt more like a Democratic Primary Race then a general mayor election.

I have never seen a Republican candidate run on a completely democratic agenda.

I had a thought. What if this is a Trojan horse campaign by Shreve?
Perhaps the Rs thought there was no way in hell they could reclaim the Indy Mayor without some skullduggery.

Have Shreve run a Completely Democratic platform, only to completely abandon it once elected.

It is an interesting thought. One would think the Indiana Republican party would have objected if they were not complicit.

We will see how this works out today.

I did something I've never done today. I left my vote blank for the mayoral race. I couldn't bring myself to vote for Shreve and I sure as hell wasn't going to vote for Hogsett. There doesn't seem to be a nickel's worth of difference between them.
Correct. But I still have to wonder if Shreve wasn't running a Trojan horse campaign.

Having Shreve abandon the platform once elected for a normal Republican Chamber of Commerce type platform.

It's an interesting theory, but I don't trust that to happen (even if he did beat Hogsett, which I don't believe he will).

Only candidates on my ballot are those clowns and one unopposed city county council seat. A Democrat, of course.

I'm skipping this one. I will not send a message to the Indiana GOP that pretending to be Democrats is a way to get my vote.

Mine had an unopposed city council candidate but he was Republican (Annee).

This is why republicans lose and the dems keep right in trucking. How many “moderate“ dems run fairly conservative but almost ALWAYS vote with the left? A lot! Dems will vote for their teammate no matter what they say. Conservatives must be told what they want to hear and have their back massaged.

Do ANY of you high principled people actually think a candidate that says what you believe could EVER get elected mayor of Indy? Heck no!

The choices were leftist and and a guy that was not a full on leftist and might have been a conservative saying what it takes to be seen as a capable moderate in a leftist city. Any action other than a vote for Shreve is a vote for leftists. Whether or not it made a difference will never be known because the machine got so many to not vote…

What happens when he wins, and the Indiana GOP sits up and says "Wow! If we just drop gun rights, people will vote for us!"

That's how you end up with state preemption done away with.

This is just way beyond my imagination of logic. If leftist Indy elects a liberal republican the party, which is me and you will elect all liberal republicans? Indiana is a very easy state to get on the ballot if one works hard at it. If I recall correctly 500 signatures in the congressional districts and you are in. If a candidate and supporters cannot pull that off they do not deserve to be elected. It really is up to us. Not the party…
