I have been reinforcing my decision to never again fly in an airplane.

I love flying as a passenger in a small private plane with those I trust. I fly commercial to do the big things that I want to see , but will never be like some of my friends that fly every week for work, including one that flies to a warm destination a few weekends a month, as it does not matter to the company where he files out of on Monday or to on Friday. LOL. I pray you get to that memorial.
My father was a tail gunner in a SBD and a SB2C in the Pacific. I figure I owe it to all the Navy that served in that theater.

My girlfriend grew up on a pig farm and she knows several cattle farmers around Hendricks County and surrounding areas. She orders a quarter or half a cow once a year and most of it is superb. She gets hers processed in Ladoga.

30 years ago we used to take our hogs to ladoga as well. They had a fantastic sausage recipe

I read right here in ingo that’s not possible. There is no good beef in the last 40 years.
The goal with the big producers is to grow the cows as cheap as possible and make the most money. They are getting good at the cheap part but they are losing the quality part.

This is why I go to a smaller farm that is mainly a crop farm but raises some beef to eat - they make the best beef.

I love the little planes but it is rare when I get to ride in one. The last time was when I went white-water rafting on the Colorado river from Moab, Utah to Hite, Utah through the Cataract Canyon for 5 days. At the end we climbed this hill near Hite and got on a 4 seater single plane that took us back to Grand Junction, Colorado. The "runway" went down the hill and was like a paved goat trail, it wasn't straight and it wasn't even but the pilot got us airborne. I was sitting up front and he even let me "fly it" which meant put my hands on the steering yoke and don't do anything. You really get to see and feel everything in those little planes.

I get mine from Iowa. You buy the whole or half cow from a farmer you know and trust to pick a good one. You pay top dollar for a top cow and you get very good steaks indeed.
There are several good places to buy beef direct if one looks around and asks questions of folks that buy meat like that. The tough part can be getting on the processors schedule if one does not process it themselves.

Talking about how different the meat is now vs. back in the day, in the early 90’s a Joe O’Malia grocery hired between 15-25 butchers per store, depending on the size. They brought in sides of beef fresh from the processing plant and probably less than 48 hours off the farm.

Today all that beef is broken down at the processing plant, vacuum sealed and put in cold storage until it ships then the meat cutters (few are worthy of the title butcher) at the store slice it. It may be weeks old, something that was not common in the past. I do realize that vacuum sealing does preserve it, but it is not the same as fresh beef to me.

    In the country, hopefully.
Death sky tube failed to kill me. I chanced the underground death tube, also survived.

I watched Elvis movie and Bohemian Rhapsody on the flight. TAP is comfy. Flight was not full. Empty seat next to me. Mid grade economy had plenty of leg room. Clean. Food wasn't bad.

    Nap time, though.
    Better luck next time.

Most Grass-Fed Beef Labeled ‘Product of U.S.A.’ Is Imported

So, are you saying the FDA needs more regulation, more manpower, and more strict laws to combat this?

Are we admitting that some governmental agencies not laid out in the constitution have at least some usefulness?
Without any grading, inspection, labeling requirements, etc. it really would be a free-for-all meat market.
