Wow, been pretty busy around here this weekend, anyway...

It dawned on me that in the 3-D political chess world some political analyst might have found this a win-win situation.

Buy votes with proposed debt relief, get more votes and energize your base when 'selfish conservatives' attempt to shut this BS down.

Not sure if that’s a 3-D chess part or just the very basis of the whole deal.
They don’t care about helping anyone, they’re always running for office/looking for control.

Remember fellas, money can’t buy you happiness. But it can buy you a boat big enough to pull right up alongside it.
No offense but I call ******** on anyone who says "money can't buy happiness"

    Absolutely it can.

I remember when I was broke broke broke.

Expired precooked bacon for breakfast, raman for lunch and typically bed for dinner. Letting the power get cut off bc I could only pay the gas bill (heat over lights) just enough money left to get to work and back and that's it . Lots of sitting at home under blankets by the fireplace reading Calvin and Hobbes by candle light. I was miserable.

Now I'm far far far from rich or even well off. But eggs and nonexpired bacon for breakfast, I'll have steak and veggies for lunch. I can tell you I'm much happier now.

Yet there are lots of unhappy rich people.

It can't buy you happiness, but it can help you more easily be happy. Money in and of itself won't do it.

Nah. I've never seen anyone looking pissed off while riding a jet ski.

    :):

I challenge anyone who says that money can't buy happiness to send me a grand for research purposes. I promise to share my findings with the class. As far as unhappy rich people, some are just bound and determined to be miserable, no matter what.

It's not that money can't buy happiness.

It's that meeting basic needs and wants grants happiness.

I'm noticing that more than a few people whose 'principles' wouldn't allow them to vote for Trump have 'principles' flexible enough to want that 10 grand and not care too much about the dirty details

I'm surprised Biden hasn't moved to buy stoner loyalty with legalization yet, it would be cheaper. Maybe saving that for '24, plus the added debt dovetails with the desire to destroy American exceptionalism

Do you need a list of rich people that have committed suicide? Singers, comedians, actors...

Being happy in the moment is not the same as being happy.

I have noticed the irony as well. No point in pointing it out though. They'll never see it
