Final form of the retro middy Blood Diamond/Irene wannabe I was working on recently. Couple of y'all might have seen it at the RFS match last week running a conversion kit.

It's a Del-Ton 16" midlength barrel kit with a slip-over make believe moderator. Reasonably happy with the camo. It's heavy but not excessively so. Shooting from chin weld is a hoot.
I have many questions for you haha.
What light mount are you using? I've been attempting to recreate one of these builds myself. I'll post my pics in the next post.

The light mount is a Chinesium clone of a Weaver barrel mount, I think. Found on Ebay or some such for about ten bucks. It was barely too wide to fit under the FSB so I had to mutilate it with a Dremel. Final result is okay.

That's really the only types that I've been finding too. How durable is it?

My recent light rifle build. I've had this BCM for years and it's never been out of the box. I started to realize how heavy and complicated my rifles have become and decided to build this one as light as I could using simple fixed sights and nothing fancy that folds or adds unnecessary weight.

As an aside, somehow the irons were spot on when sighting it in and I didn't have to move them at all.

    AR-15 Build #1 . . . 7.5" Folding Pistol
Upper is 7.5" PSA. Lower is a stripped 17 Design IFLR with integrated folding mechanism, built up with Aero Precision lower parts kit and buffer kit, Geissele 2-stage trigger control group, MagPul MOE grip. and Mission First Tactical Minimalist Blade pistol brace. Holosun HS407AS red dot sight. Started life as a braced pistol - which means I can put a 16" barrel and rifle stock on it, and convert it back with the 7.5" barrel and fin style pistol brace as desired.

    -----------------------------------------------------

    AR-15 Build #2 . . .
Starts life and is born a Braced Pistol with the 7.5" PSA upper and MFT Minimalist Blade pistol brace used in #1. This 17 Design stripped lower doesn't have a folding mechanism which makes it about an inch shorter. Pistol grip is an M16A2 Mil-Spec. Upper now has CMMG Zeroed linear compensator. A Law Tactical Folder mechanism is en route, to be installed after it arrives. If it looks a lot like Build #1, it is. Difference is the stripped lower receiver I started with.

    AR Pistol #2 - non-folding lower 2048.jpg

Built AR-15 #2 first as a Braced Pistol to satisfy the wacky ATF rules regarding Braced Pistols. If it's born a Braced Pistol it can be reconfigured as a "firearm" with 16" barrel and stock, then and reconfigured back as a pistol with short barrel and brace at will without getting into Short Barrel Rifle trouble. Now shown with a 16" Ballistic Advantage upper with heavy barrel and mid-length gas system, a MagPul MOE Mil-Spec Stock with thicker (softer) butt pad, MagPul MOE handguards and M9 bayonet. Optics are a Sig Sauer Romeo7 1x30 red dot, and a MaTech Mil-Spec BUIS (currently used as a BUIS by the US Army). The mid-length gas system allows proper bayonet mounting on the 16" barrel and should soften the recoil some. I also have an M7, and an OKC3S USMC bayonet I can put on it. It's long with a bayonet on the end - not quite as long as an M16 with one - but still long, and very muzzle heavy. I don't plan on running it with a bayonet - but it is nice to know the bayonet lug isn't an entirely useless appendage.

AR #2 with Ballistic Advantage 16 inch Upper and MagPul Stock.jpg

All done in Libtard Scary Black-Bloc.

Colt 6920LE. Last one Walmart here in town sold (2013). I was convinced I needed to buy it by National Gun Sales rep Obama. Geiselle SSA trigger, WMD BCG, BCM handguard, V7 Helios CRD, Trijicon 3-9 x 40 AccuPoint scope. Upper, lower and barrel are original Colt. Everything else has been modified.

Feels like a million years ago, last time you could get a 6920 at Walmart. We've lost a lot...

    Are we still 6920posting?

Same rifle as a little further up the thread, just one upgrade cycle later. Decided to go a little more Block II and change the rail out for an extended rail with an FSB cutout. The Midwest product is nice because you can get away with installing it without knocking out FSB pins or changing the barrel nut. Just zip the delta ring off and clamp it on. Much diminished barrel shadow on the Streamlight, and it legitimately free floats. Yes the DD RIS is more legit, but it's crazy expensive now and I really didn't want to deal with changing a barrel nut, nor did I want to chop down or replace the FSB. Waiting on some FDE rail ladders to round out the vibe.

P226 DAK for scale. That's a pickup from the recent GTDist batch and it should be getting a DA/SA and SRT conversion in the near future.

    My 7.5" folding pistol AR-15 #1 with the 17 Design IFLR in its new home . . . a retro style 4/4 violin case . . .
Holosun 407AS sight is in the neck compartment at the small end of the case along with a few other items such as a chamber flag. A second, different style fin brace and sling with QD swivels fits in with it. Room enough at the body end for a container of snap cap dummy rounds and a 30-round PMag.

How do you like the Helios? I have a lot of V Seven products and love everything from them but haven't tried any of their muzzle devices
Love it! I was dumbfounded at how light it was. I did have a Ferfrans CRD hanging on the business end of the 6920. 11ozs. Ridiculous. The Helios is something like 2 oz. Amazing difference.
