The only DNA database that law enforcement has access to (that I'm aware of) is CODIS, and this does not include birth DNA blood spot samples. CODIS is restricted to DNA from convicted felons and arrestees charged with violent offenses. If it's from a birth record, law enforcement would already have to have a suspect, then pull his birth blood spot DNA record for comparison.
I mean, it's a joke post Snowden, but I do appreciate the information.

Why was his DNA on file?
Remember the original photos of him released prior to his arrest - the "Wanted" poster with his photo and one of the vehicle when they were searching for him? The blue background? I was thinking at the time it had to be a mugshot - it was a classic mugshot. He had prior run-ins with the law. The time they seized all his knives was one of them. I'm guessing there are more, the info on which haven't been released yet to the public.

I'm betting he should have already been flagged in NICS - but wasn't.

The Mayor of Highland Park says the gun used in the shooting was legally obtained. No further info. Let's see, it was legally obtained, and he was 22. There goes raising the age to legally purchase a rifle to 21. It wouldn't have prevented this.
If only Highland Park had made owning or carrying or possession of this :"weapon of war" illegal.

Have they identified the weapon yet? The closest they've come that I've seen is that it was "an AR15 type" rifle. So what? It had a barrel, trigger and fired bullets?
Kind of like how we're still waiting to see the suppressor from Virginia Beach Municipal Office shooting in 2019...

CBS news just had a doctor on, that said the injuries were all “military grade injuries, and not like the normal gun shot wounds you see”. CBS news also said that the weapon used “was similar to an AR15”. So, is ANY .223 weapon, or magazine fed weapon going to be ”similar” to an AR15? It is either an AR15 or it is not an AR15.
Did this doctor examine the bodies?

wife was flipping channels last night and some news segment and they showed all of his trump flag and rally photos and completely ignored the antifa parts. Nah.... they're not trying to force a narrative at all.

"Pesina is a self-proclaimed energy healer with her company called Trilogy Energy Systems, according to her Facebook page."

Of course. Who had broken home/crazy mother on their mass shooter bingo card?

Kidding. We all know that's the free space in the middle.

knives confiscated but he wasn’t flagged in NICS. The system is beyond broken.lazy policing, they had probable cause to seize the weapons but didn’t want to do the paperwork to place him on an involuntary hold and or report him as ineligible to nics.

None of the gun control measures in place already work if information that makes someone ineligible to have a firearm never makes it to nics in the first place.

So someone should be forever be restricted from buying a gun for saying something like that when they are young?
