I don't think it exists, but I count it as a very slight possibility.

From a religious perspective, given what God has revealed to us about his plan for our salvation, it would seem very odd for there to be other life out there that he had created with no connection to us up to this point, but I supposed it's possible.

If I were to look at it hypothetically, imagining that I did not believe in God, and believed that life came about by chance from random collections of the right molecules, then I would be much more strongly convinced that it does not exist apart from Earth. Taking the largest estimates that scientists guess to be the total size of the universe, and giving a very generous estimate for the likely number of planets that would even be capable of sustaining life based on the distance from their star, the odds of a single living organism coming to be from the random movements of chemicals is still so mind-boggling low, that to think it would have happened not just once, but twice, seems borderline impossible.

Is God not what humans define as extraterrestrial life?

Lol, I guess you're right. I've never thought of referring to God as extraterrestrial life, but I guess technically...

Somehow I think that's not what OP meant, though; I was thinking of physical/organic/material life forms, and not spiritual. I guess for that matter, depending on your religion, you could believe in all kinds of extraterrestrial life besides aliens; angels, demons, etc.

But I think I just remembered something from the rules about not discussing religion on this forum, so maybe I'd pipe down before a Mod shows up :shady:

Religion is fine, just don't be a dick about it.

Yes, life exists outside of our little bubble here. The level is the only question.

I believe there are far older and much more advanced species out there, as well as right here. I believe they've made appearances at numerous times throughout history and you don't have to cast a very wide net to find a significant increase in information which is difficult to dispute. None of it proves anything but we supposedly have no explanation or knowledge of what it is, my question is what else could it be?

I am not a physicist and I know "our" knowledge is still increasing and often times changing or evolving but by and large, we've learned enough to take comfort in the fact that everything on the planet is limited to the same basic set of natural limits. Gravity works on everything unless specifically counteracted by an outside force (physical or magnetic) as an example. The authenticated video footage which has suddenly started being released to the public and discussed openly by former U.S. Military fighter pilots and other personnel with identical stories of what they saw is difficult to dispute. Whatever it is, it is not limited to the physical restrictions humans and every other species on the planet are and therefore I believe it (them/that/they, God I don't want to misgender them before we even meet :nailbite:) to be from somewhere other than this planet.

In a universe of billions of planets it is the height of human hubris that they are the only life in existence.
Pretty much this. They even found that life existed on Mars at one time. So I think it is impossible to deny that it is likely there is a lot of life out there.

I think it's improbable life doesn't exist somewhere else.

I don't think it's contrary to Christian religious teaching to think that God made other life in the same way He made us. There are an infinite number of things He hasn't revealed, because we don't need to know. Think about the unwritten miracles acknowledged by the bible. Think about the nature of angels and miracles. It doesn't shake my faith to acknowledge the possibility of other life, and as long as one acknowledges the intelligent designer is God I have no problem with their speculating.

Did they actually find life forms (fossilized remains or such) or was it just finding some sort of chemicals or fossilized rock patterns that seemed to indicate the possibility of primitive life forms? I remember reading something about his a long time ago, but my memory is a bit unclear...

The Hubble Space Telescope (and others) has photographed what scientists consider billions of galaxies. Each galaxy is said to contain over a billion stars. And that is what is visible. To say that only one planet has life given the number of stars in the known universe being a number larger than can be comprehended seems to be very closed minded.

Now defining life as "life as we know it" is also closed minded considering what life has been found right here on our planet that defies logic. (Boy is that statement open to some fun!)
