    :):

Seriously, UHaul is cheaper to move across town but with their low flat rate plus (very high) mileage rates, they get a lot more expensive than commercial truck rental companies really quick.
The UHaul low flat rate plus high mileage rate is used only for in-town moves. It is not used for cross-country moves. One-way cross country moves are a single set price that includes both time and mileage. Each city-pair (e.g Minneapolis to Boise) is separately calculated, so you have to look it up (easy to do online).

(Btw, “in-town“ is defined as bringing the truck back to same dealer you picked it up from, regardless of how far you go with it. If you do an in-town rental in Fort Wayne, then drive to Louisville and back, then that will be charged at the flat rate plus mileage and it will eat your lunch AND dinner in mileage costs.)

The one-way rate is affected not only by the distance, but also by the distribution of trucks. If there are a lot of Uhaul trucks in the source city and not many in the destination city, the cost will be relatively low to encourage distribution of trucks. If other way around, cost will be very high to take a truck to a place already overflowing with trucks (like Texas).

I recently priced a move from San Francisco to San Antonio for biggest UHaul truck. Was over $5000 plus env fee and taxes. From San Antonio to San Francisco, same truck, was $900-something, plus env fee and tax.

I think Penske has a different pricing strategy, but don't know what it is. In any case I don’t think you can easily predict which is gonna be cheaper, you’re gonna have to look up the rates for the specific city pair for both companies.

BLM founder buys 1.4 million dollar home.
I'm sure the various donors will be happy their money was well spent.

    But wait, there’s more!

She has four houses in the United States, and possibly one in the Bahamas. None of them cheap.

So he was charged with a crime that most "pro-2A" people wouldn't think is a crime? And then when the govt attempted to suppress his liberty because of an Unconstitutional law, he was deprived of his life? What am I missing here?

My post is tongue in cheek, but the points are valid, considering what people, here, say if confiscation were ever to become a real thing.

Those problems aren't Chauvin's fault, and not what he's being tried for.
That's ridiculous. What is being tested for is if the knee restraint alone is enough to kill an otherwise healthy, non-drug abusing person. If it is not, then the differences between the two people is likely to be the cause of death and the argument can be made that the heart disease and drug cocktail were what actually killed him
Sorry, but that's not how it works in our system of criminal and civil law. The defendant must "take their victim as they find them." IANAL

Body cam was released. Officer thought she had her Taser out instead of her handgun. She was wrong. Definitely a bad shoot and she will be in trouble.
Although it's rare it wouldn't be the first time something happened like this.

Stuff like that is so hard for me to wrap my head around. It's indicative of someone not in control, a panic attack. Young officers that haven't seen much, yeah it happens, but there normally comes a point where things shouldn't be that difficult.

This just illustrates the point that if you're gonna resist anything can happen in a high stress environment depending on experience. Mistakes can be made that can obviously take your life. It shouldn't happen but it does.

Well at first I was thinking young officer too, but that is not the early description in the ABC article (which has changed at least three times this morning).

Gannon would not name the officer but described her as “very senior.”

She had to be absolutely beyond control to make this mistake. Different grip feel, different sights, different trigger, a selector safety, a laser...

Seems like a while back, I think it was a reserve officer shot a guy point blank thinking he had his Taser.

Maybe the tasers should be in like day-glow orange or something?
No, tasers should require a different action to activate; it should NOT be pulling a trigger.
Perhaps all non-lethal "weapons" should require the same action - like pushing down with the thumb.
How often is someone shot when the officer intended to use pepper spray?

Color shouldn't matter since you should probably be keeping your eyes on the suspect and not looking at your belt to determine which deterrent to draw.

Of course a pretty color makes it less scary for the sheep when they see an officer in uniform getting coffee.

My thought was more that once it was drawn, the officer would be more likely to notice the color of it once it was pointed at the suspect.
