Sad thing is he would probably beat Mitt Romney who is my guess to be the republican candidate in 2024.
I disagree. If it isn't Trump I think DeSantis has a strong shot. I think Romney knows he has a lot of repair work to do to even hope to be re-elected as a senator and he will be mindful of what happened to ¡Jeb! in 2016. Being the CoC/Club for Growth candidate just isn't what it used to be. The party is not going to revert back to what it was, the Romneys of the world will have to form their own party. It would be hilarious to see him try to run as an independent, the only votes he could take away from Trump or a Trumpian candidate would not get him out of single digits. Romney is done

I don't want to see Romney run either, but like Jeb Bush, he's a candidate party leadership would inflict on the people just to make them understand who is in charge. Leadership wants more coals to Newcastle but no more Trumps from the plebs.

You do realize that the SCt can't really do anything unless or until a case is brought before them. That takes time.
Ya, I’m just saying in the past 6 months they’ve refused to hear cases that they should have heard, and haven’t been particularly useful in any way to regain confidence in our judicial branch.

Id rather have them not take a case that they don't really need to than take one that ends up being bad for 2A purposes. The SCt is really the "long game" in our system.

Right. I don't pretend to understand why they refuse to hear some cases but it sure seems to me that they are playing bystanders while the constitution is being attacked and eroded.
