So we both made protest votes, knowing that via EC everyone in Indiana would count in the Trump column.

I did weigh the options, and I decided that it is important enough for the Republicans to abandon Trumpism that I marked the (D) box for the first time ever for a federal office.
    I voted for Biden.

Mine was not a "protest vote". It was a vote for a candidate that most closely advocated for liberty.

    Biden? Not even close.

When my children and grandchildren ask how I voted, I do not want to have to lie or tell them I voted to curb their individual liberties.

    So I have a question.......
Who in this whole wide world save for this group knows of your stellar protest.
In this who gives a damn.
    What difference did you make.

Its not the protest as that is just fracking nuts. Nobody cares.
It is your ability to break ranks and even consider this. And to what end.
I keep hearing in my mind...."But we have the senate so it's OK"

    You people are nuts.
I have lost what ever positives I held. We are doomed.
Do not prance around in here and espouse the 2nd OK. It is obvious you have no idea what all of this is about.

And with that I am bidding you people Ado.

So, please help educate us. If you are a 2nd amendment supporter, why would you vote for someone who publicly states their intentions to dramatically rip away 2nd amendment rights?

You did read his proposals...correct? Joe Biden's Plan to End Gun Violence | Joe Biden for President

Do you use the phrase "I believe in the 2nd amendment...BUT"?

You voting d didn’t convince anybody to abandon anything. The only protest was to vote L, to try to break the two party system.
    Change my mind.

Actually to break the uniparty (two party system to distract us) the best vote was for the one both parties hate, the guy they cross party lines to impeach, Trump...

Washing our hands of a difficult situation does not free us from guilt, it only gives us a false sense of peace
Sorry not following you. Not seeing how I washed my hands of a difficult situation?
Feel more anger than guilt and certainly don’t feel any peace unless I focus on the bigger picture, i.e. not of this world, etc, which doesn’t do much to fix a political situation anyway.

No. Everyone is counted. The popular vote in Indiana is used to determine who the state votes for. It is the states which elect the president.
Had the winner of the popular vote in Indiana been in question, I would have had a different decision to make.

Still dude, you protest vote with 3rd party. They actually need useless votes because it helps the party grow into opposition.

You don't put a vote behind the guy who is threatening executive action to take away what this forum cherishes, on day one. Well, and still show your face anyway.

Until I was directly asked, nobody knew. It wasn't my intention to share.

There wasn't a pro-2A candidate with a chance of winning.

Trump is a wolf. He has led the Republican Party away from the principles it once proclaimed. He has shown that he doesn't care about the Constitution or any of our rights. Rewarding that kind of Republican breeds more of that kind of Republican.

We each get one vote, and we each get to choose how to use it. I chose to use my vote against that version of the Republican Party.

Yes, I am well aware of what Biden hopes to accomplish.

I've said this numerous times: weighing the two options, I thought it less likely that further infringements happen under Biden than under Trump. In 2008 we heard that Obama was the most anti-2A president ever. (I was not on INGO then, so I can't say for sure that was said here; it was said on other gun forums.) Then we got more gun regulation under Trump than under Obama.

Trump has turned the [R]s away from defending our rights and turned them into just the other big-government party. And he's convinced others that is the way to win.
I think he's a cancer. And sometimes the way to remove a cancer sucks. But you're better off with it gone than trying to pretend it's not really a problem.
