I can't tell from the picture it doesn't look bent, can you put a pipe wrench on it at the base with a big cheater pipe and just spend it back around? I mean if they didn't bend it over when they hit it and just spun it seems like it'd be simple enough to spend it back in place. Easy to say sitting here at my kitchen counter looking out the window.

That was my first thought. Pipe wrench, a cheater pipe, and some oooomph should sort it right out.

Another option if you don’t mind the underground part of the pole staying in the ground. Dig around it a little, the take a sawzall with a metal cutting blade and cut the pole off below grade. I did that for a basketball goal post at the edge of my driveway after all my kids left home. The pole was even filled with cement. I think it took a couple blades - but it made pretty quick work of it.

I saw a video using this method only they use the rim with a tire mounted and inflated. Probably easy find with a Google search. Good luck !

A lot depends on whether cement was used to set the post. If so, pulling the post becomes a lot more difficult.

I tried an 8' 2x4 and it broke. So I tried a 4'ish 2x4. Broke again. Didn't have a pipe wrench big enough, hence the 2x4.

    Thanks for the vid!

Of course there are people saying he will die. Not saying they are wrong, just that there are a ton of people that feel that they have to point out negative more than positive.

I do agree with throwing a rug or something over the chain.

No. I've been working 12 hour days and haven't gotten to it.

T-post Puller and a length of chain. Works well easy on your back. I know this from experience. 3rd from last post was Set with 3 bags of concrete. T-post pulled made short order of it. Now our mail box sits on a t-post on a $1.50 bracket no one has. Hit it in 3 months.

I would NOT stand behind that chain.

You are always ahead of the crowd churchmouse! Take a bow! LOL

Seriously though, you consistently give good replies in the posts I have seen from you. I lurk more than post, but wanted to tell you to keep up the good work and thank you for taking the time to post as much as you do.
