near Bedford on a whole lot of land.
This has happened on at least one of the updates before. Yes, people are that gullible. On the other hand, there is nothing that makes developing technology to actually do this impossible. Microwave transmission of electricity, though lossy, is feasible. The new Apple watch uses an inductive process to charge so for people who don't understand basic physics (most people, sadly), it's plausible.

Armatures, hehe, I see that becoming the next INGO meme.

I've actually played around with a microwave oven, made a coax transition from the waveguide, a splitter, and an array of these cut little yagis, lit up an incandescent bulb in freespace. I'd drawn some coronas and warmed bits of my anatomy along the way. Probably a good thing I'm not breeding anymore.

This was 100% predictable and preventable. Share a vaguely plausible idea with thousands of people and you can expect a certain percentage will believe it. I use wireless QI technology to charge my tablet, so that "Ad" was close enough to the truth to be plausible for some. There should have at least been a small disclaimer at the bottom to indicate it was a joke.

The 4chan horde doesn't really do warnings or disclaimers....
