This will be another one of those Rorschach-test, "look through the prism" verdicts that will give us a really good look at how whites and blacks see things differently.

The DOJ and minister types really believe this kid was murdered.

I believe Zimmerman should have stayed in the vehicle, but regardless...now that all 50 states have CCW laws, people are going to have to understand - YOU DO NOT START FIST FIGHTS WITH PEOPLE. And expect it to end with fists.

Obozo and the dems got the distraction out of trevon martins death that they needed. Disposable that even our government leaders where wearing hoodies on the floor of congress. Just shows how they will let anyone in congress due to the neighborHOODs they represent.any chance that community gets to get on tv and hear themselves speak thinking their the next MLK they climb over each other to get the mic.

While the idea of a civil rights charge was brought up before the verdict the Zimmerman case is much different than when DOJ went after the Rodney King Officers (I am not debating whether the King case was right or wrong just as a comparison). The main difference here was Zimmerman was acting as a civilian, not as the enforcement arm of a GOV or municipality and he was not recorded striking Mr Martin repeatedly. I could be wrong (because you never know with Holder) but those two reasons would likely lead to DOJ not pursuing charges and if they do go forward The defense will factor in the fact brought out the there was marijuana in Martins system which would be helpful to have on Zimmerman's side for the pending civil suit that will definitely be filed as well.

I think it was Al Sharpton who after the verdict stated now the family can move forward with their civil trial, and they are requesting the D.O.J to reopen the civil rights case against Zimmerman.

Hopefully we can get a lawyer to chime in, but wouldn't this fall under double jeopardy? Trying him again for the same incident but for different charges?

Sharpton is still waiting for the DOJ to file suit in the Tawana Brawley case. That he hasn't disappeared from the public eye is amazing.

As long as there is an "us vs. them" mentality among so-called civil-rights leaders, it seems they're out to settle scores rather achieve justice.

Part of the BSiest of the BS federal/state separation. Feds can't try him under vanilla murder/manslaughter charges. But they can try him under deprivation of civil rights charges. The fact that its for the exact same set of acts, "victims", motives, opportunities, and means, is immaterial to people with no respect for the soul of the double jeopardy clause.

The State of Florida tried Zimmerman for 2nd Degree Murder. Such a Civil Rights trial, as being discussed here, would be from the Federal Government and not a murder charge. No double jeopardy, just more political nonsense and appeasement of the black community.

Agreed. The variables here, and in the King case, are very different. Barack Hussein and his cronies are, first and foremost, self-serving. I suspect they will see that there is no political reward for staying involved with this fiasco and will run from it as fast as they can.

I wonder what they'll do with the FBI finding that race did not play an issue?

The FBI investigation and its results will be withheld from the jury.
This trial would not be about finding truth; it would be about getting a court to confirm the judgement already made by minority activists.

I want to know where all these civil right activist were when that white dude (can't remember his name) was pulled from his truck and nearly beaten to death for NO other reason that he was WHITE after the Rodney King verdict. Funny how you can only violate the civil rights of a minority.

Race had nothing to do with this in my opinion. I do believe Zimmerman profiled Trayvon, but as a Punk....not a Black person. Be honest, we all know a punk when we see one regardless of their race. Or at least someone who has CHOSEN to project that image.

Watching the news last night / this morning I keep hearing a recurring theme , " T didn't do anything" .

Why do folks choose to ignore the head bashing part ?

If the NAACP files a a civil rights suit , can Z file a counter suit of some sort ?

The race pimp's race pimp, Jesse Jackson, has come out and said as much. A minority in America is incapable of being racist. His logic: Being a minority, he is automaticly disadvantaged power-wise, and so even if they (quite rightly in JJ's opinion) believed that whites, specificly or generally, should suffer, the minority doesn't have the power to make those desires a reality, hence, they are not really racist.

    I $#!& you not.

Why is this a White vs. Black issue. So all Whites think alike and so do all Blacks? Serious projection on your part. Here is a News Flash ... PEOPLE have different opinions.
