Looking at the application for the federal firearms license for collectors of curios and relics, I notice at the end you have to sign a bunch of statements, beginning with collecting old firearms at your home doesn't violate any state, local, or zoning law. How do you find out about that? A keyword search through relevant law codes doesn't reveal any prohibition. Some random blogger on the internet says the zoning law part includes whether you can buy and sell guns. Again, I didn't see any prohibition about that. How do you find out whether your location is OK for firearms collecting?

    Thanks!

Indiana has a "state preemption" law for firearms. Local Government (towns, counties, etc...) cannot make their own laws regarding firearms. Since collecting doesn't violate State law, you should be good to go.

I suppose they can still regulate business via zoning, but that isn't what you are talking about, correct?

You're GTG. Most of that stuff is related to dealers and the application forms are pretty similar (the same?).

There's no laws concerning your collection.

    Law codes? I don't uderstand.

You should look at the zoning code.

I am zoned residential and hold a C&R.

A C&R is only a collector. You are not in the business of buying and selling firearms with only a C&R.

In June, I submitted my address change for my 03- C&R. I still have not received my revised license. If I recall, it only took about 45 days to get my original.
