After four years of Barack Obama's diplomatic 'leadership' and billions of dollars in attempted friendship aid, a new public opinion poll reveals that 92% of Pakistanis now disapprove of the United States.

That’s the lowest favorable rating Pakistan’s citizens have ever given their ostensible North American ally. . . . You may remember one foundation stone of Obama’s initial presidential campaign was the argument that because of the historical nature of his presidency and his upbringing in Indonesia, the globe’s most populous Muslim land, the world would feel more fondly toward America for a change. That doesn’t seem to be happening so far........

Well, that worked out well: 92% of Pakistanis now dislike America by Andrew Malcolm - Investors.com

They're entitled to their opinion. They shouldn't be entitled to free money.

Pull all the boys home. Close the borders. Let the world fend for itself. Drill our own oil. Protect what is ours. Become self sufficient.

Once all of that is accomplished, if another country has something to offer we can entertain offers of "foreign policy". Until then, we have enough problems at home that we shouldn't be worrying about what the rest of the world is doing.

:rofl:Did anyone expect anything different? Pakistan has been against us since we stopped supporting the Mujhadeen after the Soviet pullout in Afghanistan, who were using that country for a staging area. That meant Pakistan lost large amounts of US currency, which crippled the economy. Not to mention, the US has allied itself more with India economically, especially after both nations became nuclear powers. The U.S. only deals with Pakistan when it is beneficial to the U.S.

There's that whole "invading their sovereign territory" thing when we went after Bin Laden, too. Justified or not, imagine if someone had done that on US soil.

It's only bad if another country does those things to us. We're the good guys so we have free reign wherever we should want to go. Especially arms dealing.

I would think the billions in free money we've pumped into their country would have earned us a bit of tolerance when they are knowingly harboring a person responsible for the death of thousands of non combatants on US soil. If not, tough ****, nothing in life is free. They should refuse any more free money and politely ask us to stay out of their country which we should gladly agree to while pulling the boys home.

You can only murder so many of a country's women and children before the hatred becomes ingrained. Obama has gone out of his way to prosecute his drone war and ratcheted up the killing of women and children to unheard of levels. He's just creating the next generation of enemies.

It has been done on US soil. Although not by governments, even though they are aware of it yet don't do anything about it, Mexican drug cartel groups have crossed the border to kidnap and assassinate people on their hit list. Not exactly the same but close enough and our government turns a blind eye to it.

I don't disagree with you, but the public also do not think about things like that. How many people have you talked to that "hate guns" but cannot articulate why?

I'm of the opinion of tuff s**t, there is no way they didn't know he was there in their country as the payoff's to local "officials" had to be known. Also, part of the benefits of being a superpower of which I'm not the least bit ashamed of.

As far as them liking us, who cares? We could bring all our assets stationed around the world home, give everyone a gold bar and they'd still *****, so there is no reason to care.

The rest of the world will find out soon enough what it will be like when we're "gone". Then and only then will some finally realize while we are far from perfect there is alot for the world to be thankful for as far as the U.S. presence around the world is concerned.

It has, just with the wrong people (ie their govt). I imagine that much of the billions we send to other nations, rarely translates into things that "locals" actually benefit from. I saw a vid years ago where we dumped tons of food in Africa, for starving Africans, and local soldiers stole it from the people stating that it was sent for them.

Think about poor third world countries we spent billions on, it always seems like the leaders of those nations are in suits and gold watches, while the locals are in sport jerseys with the wrong number, tatted shorts, and have dusty feet.

    Nailed it.

We half-fight wars and thus re-fight them every few decades. We need to either have a war to end all wars - a war of total destruction and absolute perfect slaughtering annihilation of our enemies and salting the very earth afterward, or to take a defensive attitude and merely guard the homeland: missile shield, tight borders, fortification of defenses - go for broke or bust. This policy of half-fighting wars around the world is getting us nowhere.

Destroy them all or let it go.

As to which policy we pursue, I don't care, but we definitely need to choose one.
