There was recently a thread about "what party are you..." https://www.indianagunowners.com/fo...nt/34667-rebublican_democrat_independent.html This currently shows more independents than Republicans.

There is also the very active thread about "I voted for Obama" https://www.indianagunowners.com/forums/politics_laws_and_2nd_amendment/39725-i_voted_for_obama.html

CONSTANTLY there are threads about Obamatard, Obomination, etc. etc. to infinity. I'm curious how many people on INGO actually voted for Obama.

I, for one, did not think "W" had the country on the right track. I am not a supporter of the socialist direction the federal government is currently pointing either. All things in moderation is my motto.

So... how many folks did vote for Obama and are willing to admit it? (poll remains private, so you won't get flamed)

I voted for the Libertarian Party this time around in hopes that they would achieve a 10% share & secure public financing next go 'round. I knew Obama was a shoe-in as soon as the Elephants trotted out their Barbie doll. I even applied for Lifetime LTCH in September because I knew BHO would win.

I take it by "Elephants" you mean Republicans & by "Barbie doll" you mean the Governor of Alaska?

Yea how dare those filthy stinking pachyderms put someone with actual executive branch experience, like the Governor of one of our 51 States (or 57 if your Obama) on a Presidential ticket!

The "barbie doll" would have been ten times better than Mccain and twenty times better than Obama IMO. And what the hell were republicans thinking putting Mccain as the presidential candidate? Thats one ofthe main reasons Republicans lost

Yep- I was going to throw my vote away on a random third party candidate (even in the light of the oncoming doom of BHO) until they got Palin. McCain is just an uglier, whiter BHO.

I didn't view it as a throw away vote honestly. I didnt want to play their two party politics game and vote for the lesser evil.

That's where I was too, technically no vote is a throw-away.

I mean, it DOES make a statement to the republicans, but I didn't care to make a statement, I wanted to save our asses from BHO... It was a no-win, no-win situation for me :xmad:

I have to disagree with that. McCain would never have bowed to our enemies. He wouldn't have humiliated our country the way BHO did when meeting the Queen of England. He never would have let terrorists go free, closed GITMO, or allowed terrorists miranda rights. He wouldn't have let the oil companies get away with what they have (anyone else notice gas prices creeping back up?) and he wouldn't have passed all the pork. He wouldn't be demanding universal healthcare and he certainly wouldn't be pushing for socialism. McCain would have had the "Barbie" encouraging him to stay on the right track too (unlike useless Biden). No, they aren't perfect by any means, but if they had been given half a chance, I think the pair could have done some great things. I'd even venture to say the country would be in much better shape financially.

That may be so but I didn't want to vote for a president who needed someone to keep him on track.

I certainly don't understand this comment. The conservative would let the oil company do whatever they please... right???

I mean, the Bushes never interfered with the oil companies... :D

Palin was, in my eyes, a hasty choice for running mate in an attempt to disallow the Democrats to turn the race into the 25% Black Man Team versus the 100% White Man Team. Again, Republican campaign pandering to the polls instead of having substance & standing by their principles (not that Palin was an abandonment of principles).

After seeing the Republicans choose Palin, so hastily, I knew the nails were in the coffin. They were already on the ropes at that point & the charismatic rock star already had the nation by the hand & was leading it backstage for a good ol' fashion !@#$in'.

I was hasty when I called Palin a "Barbie doll", but she really was chosen exactly for her likable nature & gender. You're fooling yourself if you think differently imo.

:+1: on that! The republican's had a hard fight in front of them after "W's" performance :patriot:... but, they sure didn't put together a dream team.

If I remember correctly, Palin pushed for Alaska drilling. If that happened, we wouldn't be needing the big off-shore oil companies. (Please refrain from the tree-hugging speeches.)

I'm not saying the team was perfect. And I don't like the "lesser of two evils" any more than the next guy. But sometimes you just have to play the hand you're dealt. McCain paid his dues to this country and knows more than his fair share about war and not taking any crap off of anyone in the name of America. In my opinion, that's exactly what this country needs. Obama doesn't know squat except for what his cronies tell him.

I think Palin was 50% of a dream team, personally.

And, no one likes a "lesser of two evils" vote. That's why it has the name it does.
