SSDD. You think they'd get a new message, this one's tired and old.

And, it's "bated breath", not baited. That's what you get when you eat anchovies.

:): I was hoping that someone would catch that.

That is exactly what I'm eating on top of my pizza now.

Maybe there is a miniscule chance that GOP leaders will see that they might have won with the votes lost to Johnson. It's the choices (err selling) of nominees that lost them this election - they have no one to blame but themselves.

Maybe, just maybe they'll pull their collective heads out of their bottoms and do things differently in 2016.

If history is any indicator, they'll just run further left.

    Reagan
    Bush Sr.
    Dole
    Bush Jr.
    McCain
    Romney

The next one will be conservative, we promise.

One presentable candidate out of six--they are just real winners, aren't they?

More to the point of this thread. With the new rules, the one candidate out of the 6 that was actually a conservative(Regan)could not have been even on the ballot if the rules where the same as they are thanks to the recent changes at the GOP convention.

Republican National Committee members failed to reach a compromise over rules changes pushed by the party’s grass-roots activists, defeating on a 28-25 vote a proposed amendment that would return more decision-making power to the state Republican parties.

Among the rules in dispute was a modification pushed last summer by Mr. Romney’s representatives allowing the RNC to alter the party’s rules on the presidential nomination system in the four years between official party conventions, including on how delegates are awarded to candidates from state caucuses

It appears that the GOP is dead.

In any event, it will be the third consecutive cold day in Hell I will vote for a candidate who is selected with a sham election held to BS people into thinking that their input actually counts for something when it doesn't.

I seem to recall not that many years back, we used to make fun of the USSR having 'elections' in which the people voted in spite of not having any choice in a decision that had already been made by the few behind closed doors--and now here it is in the supposed land of the free.

If you were around this place at the time this actually happened, you would know that this is standard political MO and anyone who claims to be upset at such shenanigans is feigning indignance and likely some sort of hypocrite.

What is amazing is that the asshats that pulled this stunt don't realize how they could have grown the party for the next cycle, still had Romney nominated, and still lost the election had they just let the Paulians ride.

I'm sure many of the same folks will be screaming "work within the party" at anyone considering going 3rd party in 2016....wash, rinse, repeat...

Indeed, never mind that you can only do so much washing and rinsing in the same dirty water over and over again.
