An unnerving thought; How close do any of us live to a railroad track? How close is the railroad to your water source?

For me, it's a mile. My daughter and grandkids are about the same.

And how many have bug out plans and logistics squared away?

None of it if you are very far north of US50. It flows FROM the pink to the Ohio. Not the other way around.

Hmmm, the states and epa slap fines heavily for burning things such as wire, shingles and plastic..but it's ok to burn direct hazardous chemicals. Why wasn't these chemicals just pumped into proper containers..

Doesn't really matter, with that storm cloud growing everyone in a 20 mile radius is going to get a big dose of the stuff, maybe even further depending on the winds. Not many live that far away from the train tracks.

So more than a week of forced evacuation means $25k?
That is beyond insulting. Were did that number even come from? If that is really what they offered they damn well better be sued by every man woman and child in that town and surrounding area.

That map shows what feeds the rivers. Memphis, Louisville, Evansville gets water that was fed from the Ohio...

Fort Wayne, Indy, etc. feed our waste water in that direction.

I think all the tracks near me are abandoned or seldomly used. One of them is proposed to became Holcomb’s boondoggle bike interstate. At least the bike riders can’t devastate an area with one event…that’s something, I guess.

We have all heard the term quiet quitting by now. Given what has happened in the last decade at railroads with PSR( https://www.freightwaves.com/news/what-is-precision-scheduled-railroading-psr ),you can wager things that should be done and are supposed to be getting done are not.

Things have not been going well,and it will likely get worse.

And don't even BEGIN to think the same is not true, to a lesser extent but worsening, with airlines
