Not afraid of work... can I just fill the holes they’ve already drilled? I’m sure this was sealed at some point, but it’s pretty old.
To be honest I am not sure how thin the paint was.Just reporting what I've seen on my own homestead my friend. Whenever the coating gets thin, they come back: and it takes less time than you think. Our climate is unfortunately very supportive of these critters so it takes very little opening for them to dig in again. Less than 2 year in my experience.

I hate those little a-holes. They dive-bomb me when I'm out doing yard work.
Evening Snap carry a tennis racket and swat them, then stomp them.
Do they sting? I'm allergic to yellowjackets, so I'm nervous around any sort of bees/wasps.
