Here's another takedown. Winchester Model 63. This is the Miroku - Japan re-issue. Unfortunately, I have to scope anything I want to actually shoot well. But it's a discontinued Leupold VX-2 EFR rimfire scope. Sun was messing with my light to get a good pic. I'm going to get a better pic when I get a chance.

Finally took time to get a detail take down of the Winchester 1897 "Riot Gun". My example is from 1905.
    20230318_113815.jpg
Start with the port side... Push captive pin down.
    20230318_113841.jpg
Lever pin up to unlock magazine tube.
    20230318_113849.jpg
Push pin forward to separate mag tube.
    20230318_113859.jpg
    Slide pump forward to disengage.
    20230318_113909.jpg
    1/3 Rotate barrel to unlock.
    20230318_113927.jpg
    Carefully separate the two halves.

I think its facinating how John Browning's genius is captured in this takedown design, and the shotgun itself. The use of interrupted threads is brilliant. Take down is quick, lockup is solid.

Becoming a grandparent is no fun in the post Covid days. Two people only per expectant mom which, for my daughter, was her husband and mother. I got to stay home with texts to inform me for the 24h of labor and 4h of pushing (her first). To keep me distracted I went to the basement and did a conservation and repair on a Winnie.

This is one I got out of our classified (thanks Flying Squirrel) and all it needed mechanically was a $5 spring that was broken. It had a chip in the toe to the stock and a crack in the fore stock, all of which has been repaired. It is no longer covered in rust and black paint and no sanding was done to the metal, just cleaned and blued.

Winchester model 1890 in .22 short. They are built like a tank.
