:ugh: I love her role in that movie! I use the 'What do men with money and power want ...' quote all the time. I am ashamed I missed that :kicks stones:

Obama, in a rare move for an ex-president, breaks silence to criticize Trump on immigration

It went downhill from there, he spoke out in 2018 at the University of Illinois, June 2020, a fundraiser in July 2020, the DNC convention, Flint MI and Philadelphia in October, a CBS interview in Nov and that's just from a quick google search. That guy needs to just retreat to one of his mansions and fade away.

obama was a worthless piece of ****.
obama is a worthless piece of ****.
obama will always be a worthless piece of ****.

In the interest of the Christmas spirit, I am being generous and holding back what I truly think about him.

I tell you what. I’m willing to put my money where my mouth is. I got a hundred US Dollars that says, Trump will publicly comment negatively on his successor, or the new govt, within a month of leaving office, and do so, regularly henceforth. At a bare minimum 2 times a month. The standard I’m giving is WELL beyond that of any other former President....and I have the utmost confidence, I’d win that bet. My suggestion to you, don’t take that bet. Ignore it, or give me some sort of clever response, gracefully stepping away from a challenge you’re sure to lose. Game?
“Henceforth” is not practical. I wouldn’t take the bet anyway because we all know Trump is going to speak his mind. But I certainly wouldn’t take it if I have to wait for literally eternity.

I know of one that said it was not necessary to read a candidate's position on the natural rights documented in the Second Amendment because it was already well known....and then cast his vote for it.
Funny, I know Christians who are very righteous, and then cast their vote for somebody decided not so. I guess one votes according to the totality of ones beliefs, and not simply cherry pick. :dunno:

Jesus said: render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's.

When voting Christians are not voting on who is a good man, but who will fulfill Gods will. A vote is not Gods, it is a contrivance of man and therefore belongs to man, not God. The Christian is therefore to seek the answers and in their heart who will fulfill Gods will.

Otherwise we would fall astray of the "let he without sin cast the first stone", and be judging candidates as God would, and that simply is not mans role.

But if your intentions were to malign Christians for supporting Trump carry on...

That's one of the things America was founded to get away from.
    False.

America was founded to protect the natural rights of man.
To conduct one's self according to your own desires, with respect to the wellbeing, not the will of others.

America is a beautiful dream and a rejection of the top down establishment orthodoxy of Europe.
Your morality is not handed down from a pulpit but raised up by it.
    So too,
Your vote descends not from the elected but raises your cause in their voice.

The very fact people openly claim a political party without absolute disgust would confuse more than a few of our founders.
Men often forget their principles in their haste to catch a passing wagon.

The idea that an individual Americans vote should be based on anything other than their own personally held moral convictions is to spit in the ocean of blood spilled to secure that right.

Let Neither Sword nor Pen Sway your Hearts from the Just Cause of Liberty.

Well, c'mon though. Wouldn't you be cherry-picking too? All are fallen from the glory of God, right? If your religion makes you believe that you shouldn't vote for bags of ****, shouldn't you vote for neither?

I don't think anyone likes that Trump ****ed a porn star while his wife was pregnant with his son. I'm positive they also don't like the sins of Bidet either. So if you're using your religion to decide, you're both cherrypicking. It's all about belief anyway. So relax. No reason to think higher or lower of people's "Christianity" just because they didn't vote the way you think they should have. And that goes both ways.

Well, yes and no. The New World was so that people could escape religious persecution and set up their own right there. But, it's true enough that one of the founding principles was to get the state out of religion, unless it's "my" religion. Then it's okay. At least that's kinda how it went for the first hundred + change years.

    I'm disappointed this needs clarification...
The Natural Rights of Man descend from Almighty God,
Man is responsible for individual conduct with respect to the wellbeing of others, not the will of others.
("Man" is defined as an mentally individual, physically autonomous human being.)
The State is established by the consent of the governed,
It's purpose is the will of the governed,
with respect to that will, and not the wellbeing of the individual.

Thus the purpose of the State in all modern forms is at odds with the purpose of Man as an individual.
One has but to observe society, reality by it's very nature is not hidden.
Truth is written on the hearts of men.

Many simply choose the easy route, discard their responsibility, and become a drone of society.
