He is absolutely right...but since America has become more populated than when we left England. I think we are looking at a civil war, but one fought in every state against the government. I do believe this will happen in the next year or so...

Will be interesting to see what comes of all the secession talk. What do you think would/could happen if say, a state like Texas, had had enough and said adios?? I would be willing to bet the .gov would go on a emo-war-rampage and administer military action to bring them back. Ideas?

Nothing. People are signing online petitions. Pretty sterile method don't you think? Few are willing to get their hands dirty. This will die down.

How exactly do you think the civil war started? Do you think they just one day woke up and said to themselves "hey, lets go out and secede today"? or do you suppose there was long deliberate and gradual movement in that direction? I'm pretty sure (100%) that it was a gradual thing and they only declared secession after they felt EVERY other option had been attempted and or taken away. We ARE running out of other legitimate choices with each failure to convince the government to do as we wish the way it is written. At SOME point there will be but one choice left, I just pray it happens before it is too late (well, actually I would prefer a return to governance by the people for the people but that obviously isn't going to happen).

I am thinking that Denny doesn't see there being enough of the populous that has enough backbone and will to go through with it. And I have to admit that I have a hard time finding fault with that thought. I don't think that the American people in general have the stomach for the kind of fight. It would be bloody and pervasive. let's face it, most Americans are weenies. it's not a slam, (wellll) its a fact.

besides online quarterbacking is so easy
americans (since the generation after the great generation (which BTW I dod not think they are so great)) have not know anything about suffering or starvation or war (in our own back yards).

we are a bunch of spolied brats that love to complain but do nothing more.

Exactly. It is easy to get people to sign a petition online. It is a totally different world to believe they will do more than that. People will moan and groan, sign petitions, post snarky commentary on Facebook, and that is about it. Those that want to do something concrete (right or wrong) are far too few to get it done (that might be a good thing depending on the perspective). This board is NOT representative of the general population, petition or not. I think sometimes we get lost here in thinking that.

    My opinions:

We need to kick the Socialist out of Our Country's Government and then make them leave. This is Our Country and they want to destroy it. It is Our Duty to stop them. That is what Our Forefathers did when We The People founded Our Great Nation. We made the Socialist leave then and we must now do it again.

I'm hope and pray there is a non-violent way of re-installing our Constitution, Bill-of-Rights and our later Ammendments as Our Rules of Law.

We have much hard work to do in the next four years. The Socialist and other anti-constitutionalist must be stopped.

The COP thumbs his nose at public - too "chicken" to start a riot.

Who's cranky because they haven't got to use their riot gear this year? Denny.

Not all the "founders" thought states should be more important than the federal government. Sure, they all wanted to secede from the British empire but that doesn't mean they thought that individual states should go it alone. Read the Federalist papers.

I highly doubt that anything will come of the secession talk.

BUT, Thomas Jefferson believed states have the right to secede, and spoke of it in a letter in 1825.

Jefferson said in part "... and separate from our companions only when the sole alternatives left, are the dissolution of our Union with them, or submission to a government without limitation of powers. ..."

Here's a link to the entire letter
