I love RK they have a great selection of glass bottled sodas!

But seriously, got one of my 1911’s there (New Castle) and didn’t have any problems.

My late Father In Law bought a rifle online RKguns a few years ago. I went with him to the store (Frankfort) to pick it up. It took two hours for them to pull the order. Apparently they typo’d the serial number in the order so it didn’t match the serial number on the rifle that was shipped. It was off by one number a “3” was confused as a “8” or something like that. The guy at the counter gave us two boxes of .308 free for the trouble.

I have bought 3 this year from RK in Fort Wayne, not one issue. Ordered all 3 online, waited until they came in and went in and filled out my paperwork. In and out in 30 minutes, zero issues.

I suspect the big retailers get close out deals that LGS do not get…
...or more to the point. Big retailer, they can do a focus group on a product. Take that information to marketing. Make a volume purchase off that and put the price point in a range that produces a profit. Perhaps using that as a means to drive customers back for repeat purchases. Note once you buy from them. You get bombarded with ads from then on. Whereas the LGS will as a rule only stock products they reasonably expect to move.

I have had LOTS of delays and problems with RK and buying guns when I lived in IL, not so much now I’m in OH. But I rank the wait up there with Vance’s, where they want you to just put the gun in layaway instead of waiting for the background check to clear. They hate it when I tell them I will wait.

I only go to RK or Vance’s when the price is too good to pass up or I need to use my Blue Labels.

I was told having a UPIN makes me a "prohibited person" under their corporate policy.
The RK management knee jerks a LOT. A former co worker transferred to ATF as an IOI. I asked him about what was up with RK. He said they are full of s*** on the locks needing to be there (specifically with the Terre Haute store) they will not do a Brady Transfer and if they find a minor thing like a customer didn’t mark a gender block in the 4473 they fire every employee who was involved or did the transaction.

That alone doesn’t really allow one to learn the job very well.

Order through rkguns arrived to the Avon store in 9 days. Went Sunday evening to pick up, paperwork and everything completed in less than 40 minutes. Walked unescorted out the door. The only negative was the popcorn machine had been emptied for the day.

I've had my patience tested and my time wasted at the Greenwood RK. Slow, Slow, Slow. Not to mention the "escort" out the door. Grrrrrrr

Bought my first RK gun last Sunday. Ruger LC9s with Williams fiber optic sights. An aside: looks like Ruger discontinued them at some point when I wasn't paying attention, various sites show them on clearance and have dropped the price so it was time to buy.

Local RK had them marked at $369. I literally bought the last one in the store. Very easy process, maybe 30 minutes from start to finish. They handed me the box and said, "thank you." No escort to the door. (West side RK in Evansville)

Probably gotta make up the loss of those 4 or 5 CASES of ammo that was stolen down there a couple weeks ago. Presumably in the WCSD or MPD evidence locker now.

My biggest issue is that if they run the 4473 and it comes back delayed, if you haven't purchased or put a down payment on it they will leave it on the floor and someone else can buy it while you're waiting for the proceed. Don't know if that is corporate wide or just my local (Monticello).

Wouldn't that invalidate the 4473, since you'd have to purchase one with a different serial number?

I believe so, which is one of the problems I have with it. So you'd have to go through it all again. I think they will do a "lay-a-way" for something like $5 or 10, but if they don't tell you that they don't take it out of the case...

I had a delay on a gun I bought there, when I went back to pick it up they asked if I had it on a lay-a-way, I said no, they said well I hope someone else didn't buy it and checked in the case. Luckily no one had.

Just came back from RK in Bedford, purchased a handgun they had in stock. Super pleasant experience, very nice young gentleman at the counter, zero problems. Probably took twice as long as it should have because we were talking so much. No escort to the door.
    Good times at RK
