Riley Steel Match June 5, 2010

Steel match coming up on Saturday June 5, 2010 with first shot at 2pm.

Five courses of fire with a min. of 25 rounds per stage.

Shooting steel matches is a great way to improve your target to target transitions and get in some trigger time with the stress of the timer.

$10 for first gun.
$5 for each gun after that.

Area 5 and the State match coming up. This is a good chance to get some good practice and trigger time in as a prelude.

Do guys shoot rimfire rifles in this? I was watching a steel match on youtube somewhere and guys were shooting everything handgun, rifle, and shotgun.

The way I read the rules is this is for handguns. Just curious.

Yes there are rimfire rifles (22lr) shooters. Matter of fact my son will be shooting a 22lr rifle.

IMHO, the best way to benefit from these matches are to shoot a rifle and handgun. You're there anyway, might as well get great trigger time with two guns.

yeah, thats what Im thinking. Ill bring my M&P 9 so I can practice with my production gun, then bring my 10/22 rifle cause that would be freakin fun!

I'm planning on attending. I've got plenty of ammo, but only have 2 mags for the pistol I'll be bringing. FWIW - they are 19 rounders though.
