    In schools.
Yep. Last year, my son got his first dose of environmental education in kindergarten. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but instead of focusing on teaching skills & habits* that have an impact, they talked about what could be done.

*not throwing trash into the wild, not spilling chemicals into the water, & reuse whatever you can. No one should have a problem with protecting the parts of the earth we haven't paved over yet. Everything else is about making cash.

So this topic has been going way too long for us escape being lectured about our respective intellectual deficiencies. What's the deal?

My daughter, a freshman and 14, was having a discussion in school (online public school) about overpopulation and she shared that her reaction was:

    1) The overpopulation "problem" is fabricated,

    2) The only way to limit population is to enforce a family size restriction which removes freedom and results in the death of children, neither of which is morally acceptable, and

    3) Pushing the overpulation agenda is just one more way for the government to grab more power.

....it was pretty dusty around there when she told me that.

    It's "Global Weather Disruption" YO!

Seems like a Klingon sidearm could fix that.

The usual suspect got banned..... how did you miss that? What are you dense or something?

Dense? It's obvious your reasoning is flawed. It wasn't a permaban. A more reasonable conclusion to explain his absence is sour grapes.

    The purpler may be malfunctioning.

What?? How could that have possibly happened?!!!

    I am shocked.

What you did there? Oh, we saw it.

    Oh VERY WELL!

    Um...you're a doubter.

And, ...you're not a real scientist and not very smart.

    ...and you're a stinky doo-doo head.

    Better?

You didn't have to be mean about it!

5 out of 6 scientists agree: Only scientists should be allowed to have an opinion about any subject that vaguely brushes up against a scientific subject. The other scientist (6th out of 6) believes that only He should be allowed to have an opinion.

All 6 agree that, regardless, only those opinions that empower and fund approved "scientific" pursuits are relevant and should be sanctioned by large sums of government (taxpayer) cash and government control over private citizens.

Just had a huge 'global climate change' rally with DiCaprio spouting his Gore-esque :bs: while, at the same time, adding more carbon to the air with his jet and yacht travel in one year than, perhaps, ALL INGO members put together.

It's a lefty-loon liberal democRAT pandering to their 'we MUST have a loony cause!' base. Gore jumped on that, defrauded the public with his stupid movie, and STILL hammers on it to further line his own pockets.

4 decades ago, it was "We must do something NOW or we'll be in an ice age in the next 50 years!" Before that 5 decades even arrived, Gore pops up and it's "We must do something NOW or the Earth will be a scorched desert in the next 50 years!"

The ONLY thing the 'global warming cry' has done has lined the pockets of a few scumbags like Gore, and got morons like the Liar-In-Chief to :spend: billions of taxpayer dollars on wasted 'campaigns'. Easy for the Liar-In-Chief and his loony ilk to do, since it's not his money.

13,000 years ago (approximately) we had our last ice age. The Earth, in it's journey around the sun, 'suffers' from an inconsistency in it's orbit. It 'wobbles' a bit on it's axis, and doesn't make a consistent, smooth rotation (like when you spin a desk globe). It's because the Earth isn't perfectly smooth and evenly balanced.

During this cycle of procession, this 'wobble', the entire cycle of which lasts (approximately) 26,000 years, there will a point where the axis is somewhat closer to the sun. At another point, it will be furthest away from the sun. Each half of that cycle appears at (TA DA!) approximately 13,000 years.

13,000 years ago, the Earth was at it's furthest point away. Hence, the ice age. Then it began it's half-cycle to the closest point, about where we are now. Then, it will once again head back toward the sun, and temperatures will slowly drop once again.

It's a part of the Earth's natural cycle, it's not 'shocking' and there's nothing you or I or Gore or Neil deGrassi Tyson or the Liar-In-Chief can do about it, period. They likely ALL know this (Tyson certainly does), but it puts $$$ in their pockets to 'raise the alarm', as they've aptly demonstrated.

Simple as that. It's all easy to understand for anyone who studies it. OR, paid attention in their astronomy classes in elementary and high school!

So how do we turn up the global warming? I prefer the hotter climates and today is a bit chilly. I want to wear shorts in January in Indiana and not freeze my nards.

If you walk into any voluntary mental treatment center and say "__________ will kill all life on Earth" you get a free room and great drugs

As close as that would get you is maybe # 2956 on the waiting list. I guess if you also throw something and break a window while you're there, you may get a free room, but probably no drugs.

    Modern Gunner:

In my self-appointed role as Condescending Science Czar of this discussion forum, it is my duty to remind you that you have (perhaps unwittingly) committed a Climate Change Discourse infraction. Discussion of "Science" involving events which occurred more than 200 years ago is not allowed. Although it is important that we accept the conclusions of Science, events which occurred pre-Industrial Revolution do not count, and must be disregarded for purposes of this discussion. This means: discussions of Ice Ages, Inland Seas, fossils, Glaciation, the Carboniferous Period, and other such forbidden topics is, well, forbidden. Your attempt to introduce scientific reasoning based on events more than 200 years old has not gone unnoticed, and if continued, will not bode well for you. This time limit is imposed for your own protection, and keeps the discussion centered on the relevant periods of time from which responsible conclusions can be drawn. (It is also recommended you avoid making references which question the absolute age of the Earth, so as not to invoke the Religious Exemption and draw double-secret probation, as well).

You Have Been Warned. INGO welcomes your further well-reasoned contributions to this subject, limited of course to the relevant time period under discussion.

    Respectfully,

    The Science Nazi

The real story, is the millions of american democrat voters that still believe in global warming. They still believe we are destroying the earth. I have had countless conversations, no facts matter to these people. They dont care that they have been LIED to, you can prove to them they have been lied to, and yet they still dont care, they still believe in this stupidity. Global cooling in the 70's, global warming in the 90's, now climate change, now no warming for 16 years, all the fake data found, polar bear populations exploding, more sea ice than in a very very long time, nothing matters to these nuts. Their religion is liberalism. They need something to believe in, something to give their lives meaning, and the idea that they can save the planet by driving a coal powered car from which the battery cant be recycled is something they think is good. Its pure insanity, its just more socialism, taking money from us and giving it to potential voters.

My 18 year old daughter has never in her life experienced any Global Warming.

I am 51. I experienced Global Cooling from 1963 -1974, Global Warming from 1974-1996 and Global Temperature stasis from 1996-2014. In less than half my life has there been warming, yet CO2 concentrations have gone up nearly every single year of my life.

So where is the causation and correlation?

The next and most important question is this. Is warmer better than colder? There is a pretty good global record of climate going back several thousand years. The unequivocal answer is that warm is better than cold and it isn't even close.

The next question is how warm? Well it has been warmer than it is now quite a few times in recorded history as well as further back. Humans thrive in warmth.
