Having the legislature choose 'electors' was the original system. Whether that authority is lost with popular election, IDK. However, given how the integrity of this election is damaged beyond repair, that seems to be the proper solution. SCOTUS should have at least heard the TX AGs suit

That’s not what Pool said. Hawaii sent alternate electors after a dispute over results was settled. But regardless it was only Hawaii and 3 electoral votes. That had no real impact on the winner.
