I suppose non natives don't like it called "the region". Us true blue regionrats wear the name with pride. The name
originated when the steel mills were going strong up until the 1980's and a great majority of inhabitants worked in the
steel mills. They were called "mill rats".

Da Region must be growing. Chesterton is not Da Region. Grew up on US 30 by Illiana Raceway and that was questionable as being in Da Region.

I've always found "the region" to be a generic and lazy nickname for the area. Barely a step up from calling it "the location"

Welcome from NWI. According to jedi "Da Pink Father" "Da Region" consists of thugs to the north of Rte 30 and rednecks to the south. I'm close to rte.30 and rte. 41 so depending on that location I can be both on any given day. A thugneck if you will.
