Meijer In Portage was very thin on the shelves.
Pasta sauce and noodles were seriously lacking. Oj was sparse. No frozen potatoes of any kind (French fries, hashbrowns, etc). Hardly any fresh chicken and no frozen. Frozen breakfast sandwiches (Jimmy Dean) and stuff like Hot pockets are non existent. Refrigerated bread and rolls was pretty empty as well.

Strak last night had paper signs on frozen food section saying due to supply chain issues some items were not in stock. They had food but some sections were empty.

    Welcome to mother russia, comrades

Yup. Don't think it's going to get any better anytime soon.

I have noticed in general that Aldi does not seem to have as many shortages. So if you want to stock up, that may be the place to go.

There are a few must-haves that I always keep plenty of.

meat of any kind, mostly ground beef, whole chickens, pork loins, and beef roasts
cream of chicken soup or cream of mushroom if you prefer :puke:
bullion/soup base of different flavors (prefer Knorr, but whatever)
Tomato sauce (Aldi's is cheap and good) Can be used for spaghetti, chili, or goulash
    brown rice
    pasta
    beans
    oatmeal
Frozen mixed vegetables (the one with corn, peas, diced up carrots, etc.) I keep lots of this because you can do anything with it
    Frozen diced onions
Bread, butter, cheese, and milk (all can be frozen)

You can make a lot of meals with the above. They may not be gourmet, but they will be hearty.

This list grew into a monster, so I might as well post it over in the sit-rep thread too.
