Lady and I got a lesson on the stands we struggle the most with at deer creek yesterday, then went and grilled with my pops and his lady in Homewood. Their new puppy and our two new puppies happily beat the **** out of each other for about 4 hours, and the jerk chicken was on point. Then moved the 15 yards of mulch out of our driveway today, and got it spread. Great freaking weekend :)

I will start putting a plan together. I'm thinking a must-carry cookout party; give all of us a chance to wear our barbecue guns!

I don't have a LTCH, but I guess I could cart around a long gun.

Regardless, I'd smoke some rib tips and bring em.

Certainly a warm weekend. Was fairly decent getting most things done but yard work was kind painful.
Still need to zero my new LPVO on the SCAR.

I was going to ask this too. I have Leupold 1-4x red dots on a couple, but always looking for ideaers.

    .
I'm leaning towards the Vortex Strike Eagle...figured it's 1-6x and can be thrown on an AR (because of the reticle) if the need arises...and they're pretty cheap comparatively.

Vortex makes a scout scope I might put on the M1A. If my case of ammo shows up early enough today I might run out to JP or Winamac to try it out just irons. Red dots aren't an option because I have astigmatism and I forget my glasses most of the time.

I've got that expensive Vortex 1-6x, forget which one, but it was too darned heavy (20 oz, if IRC), So I went with the Leupold 1-4 on some, and the Leupold DPP on other stuff. Put the heavy Vortex on a lightweight carbon-fiber barreled auto-loader rifle.

In Indiana, You can carry on my property with my permission sans State permission slip. Steve may extend that courtesy to you if you make request.
