What else that's local owned is really excellent around here?
    Ricochet Tacos in Valparaiso.
    Meditrina in Valparaiso.
Schoop's anywhere they are. There's one about a block away from Blythe's in Valparaiso.
    Saigon Noodle House in Merrillville.
Octave Grill in Chesterton can't be mentioned enough!
Tiger Lily in Chesterton has a killer bakery and great food. If you have vegan/vegetarian friends, they have a menu completely dedicated to that diet.
Ivy's Bohemia House in Chesterton. The food is fantastic and they have pierogi!
Gelsosomo's pizza. They're all over Northwest Indiana, they'll be easy to find.

When we moved here we were amped to try Shoops and Gelsosomos, kind let down by both. Miller Pizza really surprised pizza and beef/sausage wise tho.

With everyone saying Octave, I guess we gotta try it.

*edit, ok looked at octaves menu, they sound awesome.

I heard a news break that said lake effect is coming, which is usually not a problem foe Gary.

It only hits us when the wind is out of the North.

Checked weather channel the wind is Northerly at 12 mph.

The pizza at Miller Pizza is barely a step above Little Caesars. Can't speak for anything else they serve.
Huh. Their stuffed is IMHO better than Giordano's and if you order this extra thin and well done it ends up being passable tavern style. Different stokes.

Well this will be the lead topic at work tonight. We have a couple of former state employees and hear how they are better drivers...

And here I figured the driver was trying to do doughnuts in the plow truck.......

Drifting a winter dressed tandem axle dump/plow truck is an art form (and easier than you'd think). Like slurring a 3 point turn in a tight spot. It's also really fun, when done correctly... so I've heard

My uncle drove a semi for a living. I remember when I was about 10 or so, him taking me for a ride to a church parking lot and doing donuts. Man was that awesome!

May not do any good. Jedi has mostly wet snow/ice but it was very little. Used the shovel as a broom and just broke up bit chucks to make a path. Very little snow.
