I think, that when someone used g00gle to search say G19 vs M&P 9 reviews, (my exact search I used and found INGO in 2011) the search results will not include any results from INGO. Big G stops the results from coming up.

Interesting. When I was in Florida last week, I googled of you could take a stripped lower in a plane. And found a thread here where our in house law experts were very clear you can not do that.

I use Google Advanced Search effectively to find subjects on INGO. But I am specifying www.ingunowners.com so maybe that's why it works.

I've been on forums with that software before and it's fine. As someone else said, it's usually the overall quality that suffers, but I have a feeling that has to do more with the subject than the software (specific firearms dedicated forums, or specific vehicles, as they fall out of popularity).

FWIW, I have to specify "forum" in my g-foo searches or I just get ads and spam from the mothership, regardless of topic.

So, if I don't want a bunch of spam only trying to sell me stuff, I have to search "Good circular saw blade forum" as an example.

Then there's YouTube being the first result on everything. I don't mind that, but I don't always want 30 minutes of one guy's opinion... I want 30 1 minute opinions sometimes.

This is making it hard for advertisers. The life blood of any forum. No real effect on us as end users.
