This is my first post and I have found this site very helpful.
I would like to find out if anyone can help me with a BATFE question 11 i.
Ten years ago I made a mistake of smacking my 14 year old daughter for saying something bad to me not leaving a mark, her mother and I were in the middle of a devorce. I am not proud of what I did and have a great relationship with her today as she comes to my house twice a week to eat.
Before this the worst thing I have had was one speeding ticket.
A warrant was put out for me for Battery and I turned myself in to the Sheriff. I went to court with my lawyer and plead guilty and was given four days in jail and one year probation. I was convicted of Battery Class A Misdemeanor Battery only and got rid off all my guns.
Now ten yearrs later I would like to get a handgun now but I am told even if the charge was just Battery I can not answer NO to 11 i.
Any help would be greatly apprecated.
