I finally joined the world of debt, and caved to buying a newer vehicle. Went to Purdue Employee Credit Union and got a loan at 5.94%, and picked up a 2002 Nissan Xterra SE/SC 4x4. I should have it paid off a few weeks into summer, and I have to admit, I really like it... It's the first vehicle I will have to drive everyday that is not 20 years old.

    • Supercharged
    • 4x4 with Manual Lock-outs on Front
    • Fully Loaded

Now all I need is a Pelican case in the back with essentials. :D

Your new truck is outfitted EXACTLY how I would do it if I had it to do over again. Congrats!

On a side-note, get on some Xterra forums and look for the "interior roof rack" mod. I HIGHLY recommend it! All it takes is one wire shelf from your local hardware store, some minor cuts here and there, and good ol' bungy cords. (here it is mocked up with zip ties) You can throw all kinds of gear up there and keep it off your rear floorboard. A slim rifle case would fit quite nice!

Where can I get a sticker?! I'll slap one on...

I definitely plan to utilize the rack back there, just not sure how I want to do it yet. I know for sure I'm going to put either storm or pelican case back there with a bunch of stuff. Haven't figured it all out yet, but it'll be ready to rock and roll in almost all situations.

That's a great idea. I've been puzzling over storage in my 93 Bronco, and I think something like that will work.

(Jeff Foxworthy voice) "You might be a redneck if you use a wire rack
from your house Anywhere in your truck!" (off) :):

Seriously, I never thought of that. I might see if I can rig up something
    for the Tahoe.
